What browser are you using?

Have just bought a new PC and it has a quirky problem. All running well except when I switch it on, the cursor is frozen. If I plug the mouse into a different USB port, it unfreezes. Doesn't matter which of the USB ports I use, it will only come to life if I switch it to another port. The problem is not the mouse though as I have tried another mouse and same problem occurs. Do you think I should take this back for a replacement or is there an obvious solution! Any help please appreciated.

Possible Conclusion:

A frozen mouse has got to eat so poster obviously fed the mouse some cheese. Most probably warm toasted cheese and with a glass of USB port.

LOL ExecLine! The mouse isn't called Big Al..but then it would probably need Armagnac to revive!

I would like some advice please,i currently am running 4 dedicated boxes each with 1gig pipes these are setup as 1 master and 3 databases and i will be adding a few more over the next month so what i would like some advice on at what stage should i add a load balancer across the servers would it be wise to add one at this stage or when i add the other to the setup.This setup is for a growing File Hosting site by the way.

Any thoughts or suggestion please ???

Hi, sometimes i cant get onto the internet .one suggestion was that the router to pc wire could be twisted i sorted this and there is an improvement. but it still happens thank you .

I inadvertently disabled my customer account on my dell laptop, and needless to say I can't now get in when I boot up. Nor will it let me in as administrator. How can I get round it or is it a case of re-installing XP?

I guess you aren't a customer of theirs (yet?) but, because they are so phenominally extremely helpful, perhaps you might well be soon.

As you can see they can give you pointers over the phone and maybe sometimes even remotely take over control of your computer.

Their service will cost you 84 for a full year. To get a 'student geek type bod' out to your home (if you even know one) could cost you 30 to 50. I think 84 is utterly brilliant value!

A damaged cable could be a problem, but a good ethernet cable is capable of speeds 2o times that of broadband so it is not often apparent.

If it is the cable, you are unlikely to be able to fix it so get a new one. One way to check the cable is to log in to the management console of your ADSL router. If that loads OK then it is more likely to be a broadband problem.

The utility you suggested has worked a treat. It took me a little while to get my head round it and summon up the bottle to have a go. When I did I was pretty simple & straightforward and worked a treat.
