Biofuels Corporation. (BFC)

wilbs - 07 Jul 2004 19:47

The main activity of Biofuels is the large scale production and exploitation of biodiesel and glycerine following the construction and commissioning of the initial plant.

Biodiesel is produced from vegetable oils and, as an environmentally friendly product, can make a significant contribution towards reducing green house gases and meeting Kyoto targets.

The management has changed now with Mike Buzzacott former BP senior executive as the chairman of BFC.

Yes true , but they still have heavy debt ,+ all the missed deadlines in the past year put me off this company for good ,there are too many other quality plays out there .

G D Potts - 18 May 2006 18:13 - 863 of 1184

I think the recent dip and perhaps continued in the market could present a get in opportunity for BFC. I think the potential of BFC is good and it appears a few changes in the boardroom is taking place which is good news. I'm looking for 140 as first entry.

i agree with the sentiment that the recent sell off has presented a good time to buy. I've bought some more, and it looks like the market is rebounding nicely

G D Potts - 13 Jun 2006 14:46 - 865 of 1184

no not really, down 21 p today, luckily i didnt get in at 140p! DOO have taken a battering as well and I think they could be a better bet at around 200p.

For your portfolio of alternative energy shares, strongly recommend you add GTL ..... it completes a nice little group of slightly different applications

G D Potts - 13 Jun 2006 17:30 - 867 of 1184

I bought a few GTL shares a year ago but they gave me nothing but losses and fundrasing, however I agree that they do now seem to be back on track and relatively undervalued, thanks Cynic.

cynic - 13 Jun 2006 17:33 - 868 of 1184

confess i am just on a selling tack at the moment .... bit headless chicken i know! ..... making a few bob here and there trading the indices ..... would have been good to be short of bullion today ... down $34.00!

G D Potts - 14 Jun 2006 16:44 - 869 of 1184

And yesterday, according to bloomberg it lost almost 7%!

hlyeo98 - 23 Oct 2006 16:54 - 870 of 1184

BFC not looking good...Morgan Stanley reducing their stake in their shares...SELL

hlyeo98 - 06 Nov 2006 21:25 - 871 of 1184

Morgan Stanley has reduced their stakes again today...from 7.86% in October to 4.56% today

HARRYCAT - 06 Nov 2006 22:57 - 872 of 1184

So why did MacArthur & Co buy 1.6 million shares on the 4th Oct '06?

G D Potts - 07 Nov 2006 11:42 - 873 of 1184

maybe they pressed the wrong button

hlyeo98 - 10 Nov 2006 17:38 - 874 of 1184

That is why Morgan Stanley is bailing out of BFC...

Biofuels warns on 'tighter' profit margins - BFC down to 56p today.

G D Potts - 11 Nov 2006 10:26 - 875 of 1184

i think UBS or someone today issued a 20p price target.
Do you not think that when they get there or say 30p a fund manager or wealthy entrepeneur with a view of long term successs could takeover BFC , clear the debts and get it all working again competitively. and then say a five to ten year period you start making fantastic gains, i would if i could.

G D Potts - 11 Nov 2006 10:30 - 876 of 1184

you could snap it up for around 35million i reckon... or even BP, theyve got the money to spare, they want renewable possibilities in the future and they wouldnt mind taking 'short term pain long term gain'.

hlyeo98 - 11 Nov 2006 12:59 - 877 of 1184

Investors chronicles has a negative update on BFC, saying that price target has been reduced and funding may need to be reconsidered with Barclays in December.

cynic - 11 Nov 2006 16:30 - 878 of 1184

exactly the same prob this time last year when BFC escaped receivership by the skin of its teeth ..... DOO looked at a t/o but walked away very smartly ...... DOO makes a much better alternative in the same field (see thread) ..... that DOO's sp has also taken a bit of a tumble this week creates a good buying opportunity

HARRYCAT - 11 Nov 2006 20:28 - 879 of 1184

Cynic!!! If I am not mistaken that almost sounds like ramping. Anyone would think you are trying to profit from promoting a stock which you already hold! :o)

cynic - 12 Nov 2006 07:47 - 880 of 1184

don't care if it does sound like ramping .... have merely expressed my view with, what passes for me, some reasonable logic ...... have a look for yourself
