Socrates - 03 Jul 2004 10:22 - 9022 of 23498

Good morning anybody. Just spent a few minutes reading all last nights posting. Quite a cross section of humanity with joy and tragedy in equal measure.

For myself, I have tried to use a weapon of mass destruction to kill of a wasp nest, they just seem to shrug it off and keep buzzing in and out. Pesky things. I'll probably have to employ a professional exterminator.

Socco is on hols this week so I'll be popping in and out during the daytime, which is nice! Not going anywhere special but enjoying a relaxing few days pottering around, visit country houses etc., maybe even do a day trade, wow, I can't contain the excitement.

Now it is high time for a full English breakfast with all the trimmings, scrummy!

Fundamentalist - 03 Jul 2004 11:19 - 9023 of 23498

FEB with a strong black coffee for me please.

In a good mood as the postie has just turned up with my FTSE comp vouchers - off to find an oddbins later!

daves dazzlers - 03 Jul 2004 11:33 - 9024 of 23498

there`s none around here,,,,,all booze busters.

Socrates - 03 Jul 2004 11:55 - 9025 of 23498

Funders
Good mood here too, posty turned up with cheque for HOF final dividend, extra crumpets for tea today, with jam.

Why do so many people got to places like Oddbins, aren't there any "proper" wine merchants around your area? You know, the ones with deep cellars and cobwebs all over the bottles. The cellars that have that indefinable aroma of goodies stored and maturing for years.

Fundamentalist - 03 Jul 2004 11:58 - 9026 of 23498

Socrates

wouldnt usually go to oddbins - but thats where the vouchers will work!!!!!

Nice to hear about your divi

Socrates - 03 Jul 2004 12:05 - 9027 of 23498

Fundamentalist
Divi's are always nice. Another nice thing about HOF shares is the bunch of discount vouchers they send with the results. Varies from tea or coffee for one to 10% off any full price item over 100, I usually manage to use them all before the next lot arrive. Have to be very selective though.

Oddbins, no options there then!

STORMCALLER - 03 Jul 2004 12:14 - 9028 of 23498

Hello Everyone
Early today for good reason, got back from trolley grand-prix to find letter from that turd depository aka the Inland Revenue finally acknowledging overpaid tax from three years ago!

Lunch/drinks are on me!

FEB for me, with special reserve bubbly of course.

Fundamentalist - 03 Jul 2004 12:16 - 9029 of 23498

Stormy

nice to see you so early!!!!!

Always nice to the IR back down - a rare feat but well worth celebrating

optomistic - 03 Jul 2004 12:19 - 9030 of 23498

Fundy, being a previous winner I can assure you that they have a very good selection of nectar and I enjoyed drinking every drop of my winnings :-))

STORMCALLER - 03 Jul 2004 12:20 - 9031 of 23498

Fundy,
As you say, a rare achievement. Grateful to the chap who does the work for me. Now for the '02 & '03, don't let the bastards grind us down!

STORMCALLER - 03 Jul 2004 12:28 - 9032 of 23498

As I am in frivolous mood I shall take the opportunity to point out that our beautiful visitor Dotel, (worship the ground etc, etc) posted 8000 & 9000, always said she was an angel.

Fundamentalist - 03 Jul 2004 12:52 - 9033 of 23498

Stormy

i am an accountant by trade and often do battle with them (mainly for friends/colleagues/my old boss etc) - i find it an enjoyable challenge sometimes, putting them in their place!!!

STORMCALLER - 03 Jul 2004 13:03 - 9034 of 23498

Fundy,
I can only bow to you in admiration then. The chap I use is actually retired but he continues to deal with my situation, and protect me from the sheer frustration. I would probably have taken precipitate action by now, had he not shielded me from the almost limitless questions, constantly repeated.

jeffmack - 03 Jul 2004 13:42 - 9035 of 23498

Afternoon you lazy lot. I've been slaving away at work since 8:30 and wont be away until 7:30pm. Someones gotta keep the Bank clean. ;-)
