David Anderson (CROCODILE)

Bullshare - 25 May 2004 10:53

It is with deep regret I have to inform everyone that Dave Anderson(Crocodile) sadly passed away last night in his sleep.

This is a complete shock to all his family and friends, therefore can I ask everyone to respect their privacy and not phone his home etc.

David was the most likable and open person I have ever met and a huge friend of mine and MoneyAMs.

Whatever I post will never come near doing justice to this great man, so I will simply stop here.

Mike

20.13 I have had a few brief conversations with David's family today. Despite all that has happened they have managed to briefly log onto MoneyAm and seen the numerous postings. I know they are moved by the response. The family are in the process of organising David's funeral but matters are slightly complicated with the Bank Holiday weekend. I will post more in due course when I have some more information.

26 May :I have received many many e-mails with offers of help and offers of sympathy. Many thanks for all these and apologises if I have not been able to reply but I will get round to it. I will also make sure those that have asked me to pass on any messages to Davids family get sent on.

In the meantime I know many of you are wondering what happened. At this stage it is not for me to go into details but suffice to say it is of a natural cause and totally unexpected.

David had withdrawn a little from the site over the last few weeks as he felt he wanted to devote more time to looking after Maria who is very poorly. Although he did not post much in the day I do know he was constantly logging on. He still continued to burn the midnight oil to create each day traders thread and he would spend about 15 hours each weekend creating the Weekend/Monday thread.

16.34 26/May Have come off the phone from Rachel(David's daughter). Today is not an easy day for the family, I think they were so busy yesterday that today has been harder as it has had time to sink in. We talked about Funeral arrangements and Rachel mentioned that they could not book anything yet but will let me know as soon as possible. She mentioned once again about all the postings which they have been busy reading and thank everyone for all the kind words and thoughts. They will arrange a public funeral as they know a lot of people would like to attend.

A message from David's Family:(posted on David's website Snappytrader.com)

I once asked David how he would like to be remembered. He thought for a few seconds and replied...'I would like to be remembered for being someone who had never done anybody a bad turn'. How many people can you say that about? But of David, it was true.

Difficult to know what to say, but want to send one short message to his family...

The world was a better place with David in it, may god rest his soul, in peace.
He will not be forgotten.

Very sad day. As a newcomer to the boards, I never had the opportunity to meet Dave. It was only yesterday I was thinking about getting myself booked onto one of his training days he held at his home.

I'm sorry I never got the chance to meet him.

Never forgotten.

Mike

I too am totally shocked by the news. Exchanged an e-mail or two about his love of France, can't believe he is no longer with us. My very deepest sympathies to his family

David, wherever you are take care, most of us here have benefited from your advise and help at some time, you will be missed.

bluedragon - 25 May 2004 17:16 - 92 of 321

A truly memorable, friendly and helpful gentleman. The world is a lesser place with his passing, and many will miss him.

Above all our thoughts and sympathy go to his family and close friends.

I was but one that David assisted when I switched to serious trading and like many, I will be forever grateful.

So sorry to hear this - I can hardly believe it. I had the pleasure of meeting David a few times, the last time being on one of his courses a couple of months ago. He was always friendly and helpful, with time for everyone, and he's really going to be missed. My thoughts are with his family.

I've only just seen this very sad news. David was very helpful to me on several ocassions. My sympathies are with his family and friends.

Douggie - 25 May 2004 18:19 - 97 of 321

All I knew of Croc was reading his posts my first point of learning, I can't imagine how much he will be missed. So so sad.

tonyjackson - 25 May 2004 18:25 - 98 of 321

Been out all day and I am just stunned. What a lovely guy! Came over to Ireland and ran a Trader's Meeting for a very small group of us including Hawkeye,Thursdayschild,Edz,Twotanks and,of course, Mealiff, most of whom still look in regularly.
Had a lovely day also at his course in the Conservatory where I learned most of what I know about trading.Further to that, when I was in trouble with my trading at times,he would give generously of his time to help me out of my difficulties and regain my confidence.Like everybody in this virtual community I will be indebted to him forever.
My sympathies to his family and close friends.May the Lord have mercy on his soul.

Aesculapius - 25 May 2004 18:26 - 99 of 321

I only met him on two occasions at MoneyAm traders meetings, but I feel that I know him well through his postings on this board and on ADVFN.

I shall miss him, he was an inspiration to us all.

My deepest sympathy to his family.

Here is a link to the MoneyAM article about Croc, which was written by Jerry Lacey and recently printed in Shares Magazine.

The title of the article is

"MoneyAM user takes on the stock market robots"

http://www.snappytrader.com/robot.htm

It is perhaps as well to bear in mind David is tragically no longer here to maintain the phenominally brilliant and useful SnappyTrader.com web site.
