VANE MINERALS, A Cheaper And Lower Risk Route Into The Uranium Market. (VML)

goldfinger - 08 Mar 2005 09:20

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE..

COMPANY WEB SITE.........

http://www.vaneminerals.com/

THE PRICE OF URANIUM IS GOING BALISTIC...

The uranium spot price hasn't seen a down month since 2001. For years now, uranium producers have met just 60% of total annual demand - the other 40% coming from government stockpiles and decommissioned nuclear warheads. This can go on for only so long.

The tightness of supply comes at a time of atomic resurgence. Three large-scale factors have turned the tide in favour of nuclear energy:
geopolitics, global warming and developing world growth.

Analysts are debating over wether the SP of Uranium increase will be three fold within 2007?.

Looks like to me, the best play on the UK market for Uranium and it hasnt gotten away yet like the other two ZBA Zareba and URA Uranium which have multi bagged. Its also in a position to fund its development with a new gold mine producing. Ive added twice this morning and think this one could be very big. Heres the announcement...........

VANE Minerals plc (AIM: VML)

VANE Announces Diversification Into Uranium Exploration And Development

Vane Minerals ('VANE' or 'the Company') announces that it is diversifying its
current project portfolio by entering into the uranium exploration and
development business.

To date 7 uranium targets have been successfully claimed by the Company and 28
further properties have been identified and are under development. VANE expects
to finalise its property position by the end of the first quarter 2005. The
Company is targeting uranium projects that are either at, or near, resource
stage or targets that exhibit similar surface features to mines with past
production, but that have not yet been evaluated for the presence of uranium.

The 35 properties identified are located within a uranium district with
significant past production as well as significant resources. Due to the
current uranium market conditions, we prefer to not identify the location until
we complete our property position. Previous drilling data available for some of
the 7 properties successfully claimed indicate grade intersects from 0.34 up to
1.78% U3O8.

VANE has incorporated a 100% owned subsidiary to hold its uranium properties and
has also successfully recruited a uranium geologist, Kristopher K. Hefton B.Sc.,
who has considerable experience in this field and is a great addition to the
VANE team. Mr. Hefton has worked with VANE's exploration team in the past during
his time at Freeport McMoran, and he has also worked for Barrick Gold
Corporation, Homestake Mining Company and Energy Fuels Nuclear Inc.

Michael Spriggs, Chairman of VANE, commented, 'We are delighted to announce the
addition of these uranium assets to the VANE portfolio and will update the
market with more substantial details once further properties have been claimed.
The uranium market has been strong for some time now, reflecting a long-term
forecast supply shortage and the growing recognition that nuclear energy offers
a cleaner and more energy efficient fuel source. Through our extensive network,
we have identified some quality projects and look forward to releasing further
details when appropriate.'

with thanks to 'kickoff3pm' over on ample whose post i have copied and pasted below...good luck for more to come to those who held on!,

"I've just got off the phone from talking to Matthew Idiens at Vane.

To clearfy the income, the $400k is for the 2 months but from here they will be mining pure ore so they expect to produce better quaility so $200k plus is what they are saying per month. $250k is their target and they expect to get there comfortably (his words).

I asked him what he thought of the SP and he was honest enough to admit it was simply because they have given no news for so long. The problem has been because they are in due diligence regarding the Uranium project.

He also said the shares are very cheap concidering they now have an income in excess of $3 million and that is enough to cover all their exploration costs for the forseeable future.

Seemed a nice chap.

KO. "

Fantastic GN. Many thanks for sharing that with us.

The last time I made a back-of-the-envelope calculation on this thread (25/05/05 - post 839) I suggested Diablito would produce 135,000 per month.

If, as looks likely, they achieve $250,000 pm that converts to roughly 141,000 per month. Cash burn remaining at 143,000 pm.

They always seem to come up with the goods as planned. Perhaps taking a little longer than we had expected - but the best things require a little perseverence!

U308 now at $33.25 - so looking forward to developments here.

Well done to all those who have stuck with it!

Cheers, Madison

Good Luck U guys - I called this one totally wrong - my timing could not have been worse - but I have topped up in GED and CHACO - so hopefully all is not lost.

Thankfully I held my nerve with this one! Its so easy to sell out of impatience but this has been ticking down on low vol due to lack of news nothing to do with the company. It has continued to deliver on its promises and all we have to do is wait fo the uranium.........

doughboy66 - 03 Nov 2005 14:48 - 1087 of 2220

Shares in Vane Minerals jumped 1.5p to 12.75p after the company said that its wholly-owned subsidiary Minerales Vane had started commercial production at its high grade gold/silver Diablito project located in the State of Nayarit, west-central Mexico. Seymour Pierce said that, based on the cash flow it thought could be generated from Diablito and - potentially - Mina Charay and on asset value assumptions for Paraguay, Guadalcazar and the uranium projects, it set a current target price for the shares at 16p. The broker reiterated its "buy" recommendation.

Stockmarket report for Wednesday from UK-Analyst.com

A slightly conservative target i would of thought ?

Global Nomad - 03 Nov 2005 15:23 - 1088 of 2220

better to be a little conservative and convince more people than put them off with pie in the sky numbers don't you think...16p still represents a 30% rise....anything over 15p and i'll be in the blue. we saw above 20p earlier in the year on speculation...is the reality better? ( let's ask madison)

GN

doughboy66 - 03 Nov 2005 15:39 - 1089 of 2220

I do agree with you Global but just thought they might be rated slightly higher.I got in these back in March at 17p and topped up at 11.25p yesterday ,although i hasten to add i didn`t buy many .I thought it might be asking to much for two days of consecutive rises.

belisce6 - 03 Nov 2005 17:22 - 1090 of 2220

have somewhat of a silly and perhaps unimportant question; would they have to pay tax on the Diablito gold, even though they would be running at an overall loss (albeit a very tiny one....if you line up the $200 - $250k per mth gold revenue versus the 143k cashburn) ?? I thought that they would......but am not sure.

i really cannot wait for these guys to give us some more info on their U prospects !!
reason being that they have targeted all levels; from greenfields areas that look good, to areas that have previously been interpreted to look highly prospective, to areas that actually have a resource (some of the breccias) etcetc...... Would really like to see what existing resource estimates they have within their U tenements....cos this may add instant value to the sp.

Vane Minerals PLC
10 November 2005

VANE Minerals Plc (AIM: VML)

Sampling Confirms High Grade Copper Mineralisation at Choix Prospect

VANE Minerals Plc ('VANE' or 'the Company') today announces the confirmation of
exposed copper mineralisation at its Choix Prospect, Sinaloa, Mexico. This
mineralisation was found in rock chip samples which were taken in September
2005.

A total of 34 samples were collected at surface from three near-parallel, NE-SW
trending zones. 22 of those samples were collected from the 'South Zone', a
cluster of outcrops about 250 metres long and varying from 50 to 80 metres in
width. Seven samples were collected from the 'Middle Zone' which is located
about 200 metres north of the South Zone and which outcrops over an area of 150
by 30 metres. Only three samples were taken from the poorly-exposed 'North
Zone' which is located about 280 metres further north of the Middle Zone.

From the samples collected by VANE, total copper values from 32 of the 34
samples range from 0.56% to 3.23% Cu at an average grade of 1.85%. Values of
acid-soluble copper in those 32 samples average 1.67%, indicating that 90% of
the copper should be recoverable by leaching. Initial indications are that the
project offers great potential for an open pit leachable high grade copper
project.

Original data on the property, taken by Cambior Exploration SA de CV in July
1996, showed that 80 surface samples had been collected over an area measuring
600 metres by 500 metres. These were assayed for copper, gold, silver, lead and
zinc. Copper values over 1.0% were obtained in 25 samples, while values between
0.5% and 1.0% copper were found in an additional 17 samples.

With the sampling now complete, VANE expects its first round of drilling at the
project to commence in December or as soon as the equipment can be mobilised.

Michael Spriggs, Chairman of VANE, commented: 'We are very encouraged by the
initial samples taken from the Choix property and look forward to drilling the
property in order to ascertain the vertical extent of copper mineralisation. We
are confident that this project will add further significant value to VANE's
portfolio.'

VANE's ex Freeport McMoran exploration team have a significant history of
identifying extensive copper prospects. Steven Van Nort has 19 years' experience
working at Hanna Mining in world-wide nickel laterite and porphyry copper
exploration. L. Clark Arnold worked for 17 years with Lowell Mineral
Exploration, and was jointly responsible for the development and implementation
of a statistically based method of porphyry copper prospecting which eventually
led to two major discoveries: the Santa Cruz deposit in Arizona and the
Escondida mine in Chile. Frank Nelson worked for 23 years as an exploration
geologist for Freeport. During that time he was often involved with porphyry
copper projects and was involved in the discovery of the Ertsberg East orebody
in Papua, Indonesia.

About VANE Minerals

VANE Minerals was founded by the former international exploration team of
Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., one of the world's largest producers of
copper and gold. The team negotiated exclusive access to Freeport McMoRan's
global exploration database, made up of 7,000 plus files generated over nearly
100 years of exploration and, following the review of these files, VANE is
ideally placed to capitalise on project acquisition opportunities. The Company
has assembled a highly qualified and experienced management team with a proven
track record in exploration and development, who have spent their entire careers
searching for and defining large scale mineral deposits.

The Company's principal objective, as set out at the time of its listing in June
2004, is to be a self-funding exploration company. As such, the initial focus
has been to identify high grade gold-silver projects which can be brought into
production as quickly as possible in order to provide revenue towards funding
the development of potentially much larger projects. VANE is well on its way to
achieving this objective as commercial production began at the Diablito mine in
Mexico in November 2005. The Company will use the revenue generated by this
first producing mine to help fund development work across its attractive
portfolio of gold, silver, copper and uranium assets in Mexico, Paraguay and the
US.

Mr Mole - 10 Nov 2005 08:32 - 1092 of 2220

Market seems to like the news...maybe they'll get some press coverage over the weekend on this? Thought the SP would move up a little higher, bearing in mind the drift downwards of late.....any thoughts??

belisce6 - 10 Nov 2005 10:27 - 1093 of 2220

think that the only thing that holds this back is the commodities price sentiment - which is that most commodities (except for gold), won't be posting the same gains in the near future. as they have over the past yr or so.......

but if VML get some great stuff with their drilling, then they may have themselves a copper deposit......in which case, sp should rise.....and keep rising; once they start drilling their U prospects as well.....

i also think that perhaps many investors don't know much about Vane - it isn't really a headline-grabbing company....just going about its business.....

belisce6 - 10 Nov 2005 10:28 - 1094 of 2220

so effectively the time to get on board is now - before they become to successful, and everyone starts to hear about it.......

Mr Mole - 10 Nov 2005 10:59 - 1095 of 2220

..thanks for that belisce6..

goldfinger - 10 Nov 2005 12:05 - 1096 of 2220

Drilling in December, good news. Market sentiment especially for smaller caps holding these back, mind at some point its going to change as P/Es for small caps get cheaper and cheaper. If we see interest rates going up there could be a transfer back to small caps.

cheers GF.
