GOLD OIL, the London-based oil exploration company focused on the South American and Caribbean region, announces that in late December 2005, the Company received an Operator Certificate from PeruPetro that allows the Company to carry out seismic, drilling and development operations in Northwest Peru.
The Promotion Licence signed with PeruPetro on October 15, 2004 with PeruPetro for Block XI (now renamed Block XXI) onshore Sechura Basin has been converted to an Exploration and Production Licence. The Licence now goes to the Ministry of Energy and Mines for approval, which could be forthcoming anytime between February and May of this year 2006.
The terms of the E&P Licence commit the Company to either shoot 120 km of 2D seismic or drill a well in the first period of five over a seven year term. The remaining four periods require the Company to either drill a well or drop the acreage. The Licence is for a term of 30 years for oil and 40 years for gas, with a minimum royalty of 5% on wellhead production for the first 5000bopd (30 MMscfd for gas) rising to 20% if and when production reaches 100,000 bopd (600 MMscfd for gas).
Times Article:
Gold Oil is valued in the market at about 15m. That is so small that almost any good news must have a big impact on the share price.
What are the chances of that happening? Run by a former Burmah Oil director, Mike Burchell, Gold Oil will drill the first in a series of wells in the Sechura Basin in April. There will be surprise if it does not find gas, as another company, Olympic, has done just that in a similar formation nearby.
The secondary target, later in the year, will be oil, I gather. A couple of months ago, Petro Tech made a big oil find offshore in the Sechura Basin. The theory is the oil may have migrated up into Gold Oils block. Dont ask me to explain the geology because I dont speak Palaeozoic. But a decent oil find here would be a company-maker.
Gold Oil has enough cash to fund this years drilling programme. And it already has a deal in place to sell its gas to Mann Ferrostaal, a German company that is building an ammonia plant nearby. Getting all that for 15m seemed a bargain to me. But Gold Oil still has to find its gas.

Janet, I use Barclays Stockbrokers on-line. Execution usually not a problem, although the backroom operation is not great. Cost is 7.50 a trade through a frequent traders account and no charges if 12 trades per quarter. One of the advantages is that you can set a limit for a sell order if it can't be dealt immediately. IMO the news was not that bad that the SP should have dropped so swifly to that level, but we all panic if we have too much at risk. I've done it myself!
Good Luck!

georgetrio - they really are that cheap? Stop-loss etc all no extra charge no matter how small or large your trade?
I use selftrade and they take ages to get funds etc - it seems you can use worldpay for instant access with your guys??? If that is true this is much better than others I can think of!
Do you get charged for selling and subsequently withdrawing the money maybe?

there will be aggressive buyers on the move if GOO touches 8p. Now what would happen if GOO comes up with oil&gas in san alberto and nacy without forgetting z34 and tiny little spain asset? i don't want to miss that party. i remain invested knowing for sure that there will a change and a nice one.

Georgetrio - Unless you have contact with a Higher Being, you cannot possibly know that the change is going to be favourable.
You are misleading those who are novices to this board.
I agree with you that there is still good money to be made here, but press releases will always cause a knee jerk reaction & money can be lost in the short term.

Harrycat - I agree, sure the sp has taken a small fall back but the rns on the forth has bought about an extended lead time. The market has reacted to this and thats pretty much all. It would take something very major now for the sp to slip to 8p. Something that major wouldn't cause aggressive buying but quite the opposite. Georgetrio - not one of your better posts and very misleading for any newbies following GOO or in.

So far, i have not misled anyone, My highest posting went for GOO;
when it was still 7p. i said that GOO is top banana and that's true. i said that the share will go to12p then 16p for reaching 25p... yes it hit 12p, it nearly hit 16p. now 25p we will see. i always say that people should do their own homework. check most of my posting. and i always wish people goodluck and to myself so i am human being. But i don't think people reading are stupid
far from that, they will check what i said and decide for themselves. Still i can express my view or have a bit of fun or share my thought. my second highest posting is for FAO. As i said FAO will not only rise but jump and rise but people has to do their own homework but that my thought and i can express that. I hold CFE, PVR, LTR, AIMR, DCD, GTL, FAO, SEY, BLR....I can assure you that,
i can recognise value but people should not follow me without doing their own homework. I accept your view but it was wrong as people will always check because it is their own money but i will always post what i think.
best luck to you and to myself

EXPLOSIVE & HARRYCAT
I THINK YOU SHOULD CALM DOWN AND READ AGAIN MY POSTING.
IT GOES LIKE THIS: There will be aggressive buyers I F GOO touches 8p. You misread the IF. And there is if.
if GOO touches 8p it will become very cheap in my view and what will happen, there will be aggressive buyers including myself. Considering San Alberto, Nancy and Z34; 8p for GOO at this point is a bargain. And by the way it is a board and i am free to post what i think. people should always make their own decision because they are not stupid. However what i said remain to be seen if Goo touches 8p. and it is my view.
