VANE MINERALS, A Cheaper And Lower Risk Route Into The Uranium Market. (VML)

goldfinger - 08 Mar 2005 09:20

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE..

COMPANY WEB SITE.........

http://www.vaneminerals.com/

THE PRICE OF URANIUM IS GOING BALISTIC...

The uranium spot price hasn't seen a down month since 2001. For years now, uranium producers have met just 60% of total annual demand - the other 40% coming from government stockpiles and decommissioned nuclear warheads. This can go on for only so long.

The tightness of supply comes at a time of atomic resurgence. Three large-scale factors have turned the tide in favour of nuclear energy:
geopolitics, global warming and developing world growth.

Analysts are debating over wether the SP of Uranium increase will be three fold within 2007?.

Looks like to me, the best play on the UK market for Uranium and it hasnt gotten away yet like the other two ZBA Zareba and URA Uranium which have multi bagged. Its also in a position to fund its development with a new gold mine producing. Ive added twice this morning and think this one could be very big. Heres the announcement...........

Vane Minerals PLC
07 March 2005

VANE Minerals plc (AIM: VML)

VANE Announces Diversification Into Uranium Exploration And Development

Vane Minerals ('VANE' or 'the Company') announces that it is diversifying its
current project portfolio by entering into the uranium exploration and
development business.

To date 7 uranium targets have been successfully claimed by the Company and 28
further properties have been identified and are under development. VANE expects
to finalise its property position by the end of the first quarter 2005. The
Company is targeting uranium projects that are either at, or near, resource
stage or targets that exhibit similar surface features to mines with past
production, but that have not yet been evaluated for the presence of uranium.

The 35 properties identified are located within a uranium district with
significant past production as well as significant resources. Due to the
current uranium market conditions, we prefer to not identify the location until
we complete our property position. Previous drilling data available for some of
the 7 properties successfully claimed indicate grade intersects from 0.34 up to
1.78% U3O8.

VANE has incorporated a 100% owned subsidiary to hold its uranium properties and
has also successfully recruited a uranium geologist, Kristopher K. Hefton B.Sc.,
who has considerable experience in this field and is a great addition to the
VANE team. Mr. Hefton has worked with VANE's exploration team in the past during
his time at Freeport McMoran, and he has also worked for Barrick Gold
Corporation, Homestake Mining Company and Energy Fuels Nuclear Inc.

Michael Spriggs, Chairman of VANE, commented, 'We are delighted to announce the
addition of these uranium assets to the VANE portfolio and will update the
market with more substantial details once further properties have been claimed.
The uranium market has been strong for some time now, reflecting a long-term
forecast supply shortage and the growing recognition that nuclear energy offers
a cleaner and more energy efficient fuel source. Through our extensive network,
we have identified some quality projects and look forward to releasing further
details when appropriate.'

Dont forget to wear your armbands.

cynic - 15 Feb 2007 17:01 - 1343 of 2220

M/AM trades are interesting ..... just a single sale today for 10k ..... all others buys though nothing over 50k (i.e. 10k)

blackbelt - 15 Feb 2007 18:44 - 1344 of 2220

Im so glad i topped up a couple of weeks ago never worry about the short term increases this is one to sit on until they have quantified the amount of 'ur anus' they have then they can make the transistion to much juicier valuation rewarding the investors for their perserverence as the short term traders have made miniscule amounts along the way due to the spread....

fliper - 16 Feb 2007 07:18 - 1345 of 2220

Need to be on this one . Rise today i feel .

hlyeo98 - 16 Feb 2007 08:42 - 1346 of 2220

Top up again this morning.

cynic - 16 Feb 2007 08:44 - 1347 of 2220

sorry to boast just a little, but your money would have been much better spent by being alert and topping up on SOLA this morning!

goldfinger - 16 Feb 2007 09:57 - 1348 of 2220

Cynic, I wouldnt be too sure about that in the medium term.

The figures presented by the company (sola) today are well under Brokers concensus forecasts and were hit earlier on for that reason. The fact that they have come back so well is due to the outlook statement, which is indeed very positive.

BUT.. we will not get details on margins which were erroding at the last results and far more importantly the figures on the 4th 1/4tr cash flow statement and debtor days, until audited accounts are released.

"Something to watch out for I suggest".

Sorry to the thread for getting off vml which as had a positive start to the day.

cynic - 16 Feb 2007 10:00 - 1349 of 2220

goldfinger ..... don't care! ..... i trade

goldfinger - 16 Feb 2007 10:07 - 1350 of 2220

I would suggest then that to compare Vane and Sola is a bit misleading, vml being a stock for medium to long term investors in general.

Sola being a traders dream being propped up with very little assets and a great deal of enthusiasm.

hlyeo98 - 16 Feb 2007 10:12 - 1351 of 2220

That's why I said in the SOLA thread that SOLA would give me a heart attack as it is too volatile. We all know VML is on the steady rise.

cynic - 16 Feb 2007 10:18 - 1352 of 2220

do you now! ... certainly looks good at the moment, though o'bought

fliper - 16 Feb 2007 11:42 - 1353 of 2220

Got a few more , positive outlook .

fliper - 16 Feb 2007 15:46 - 1354 of 2220

Not far from moving up to 22p to buy .

TheFrenchConnection - 16 Feb 2007 17:51 - 1355 of 2220

Cynic -d'accord ... l happen to like VML. But its sitting on a spike so sharp Vlad the impaler would have beem quite proud . As it happens it does seem slightly overbought; but considering the recent explosion in the price of uranium due to a dearth of the nasty stuff, l wouldnt be surprised if its own momentum carrys it to 28/ 30p in short term ..Beyond that with what we already know would be absurd .......Long term .lt seems to have a better outcome what with Nuclear power returning in a big way....b/ chance ...@+ J....and what with the next prime ministers brother bidding for Drax on behalf of a German comany ....and the PM letting slip a fewmonths ago that NP would be a neccassity it would seem VML are a cheap route into the sector ....l own a few; but at the 14p level. 22p is a bit heady for me ....mais qui sait huh ?

driver - 16 Feb 2007 18:24 - 1356 of 2220

TFC
les acclamations pour la visite

goldfinger - 17 Feb 2007 12:03 - 1357 of 2220

Well its nice to see the TAers here give there take on the prospects for VML.

Being a fundies man myself I look deeper than the present SP (and any patterns it may throw off) and look at underlying value, and that on this stock tells me that future growth will be paid for by the ongoing production at the Gold mine and the cash it generates, and the continuing development of the Uranium prospects which will in turn raise NAV per share and ultimately SP per share.

Day to day SP activity doesnt bother me. The futures bright, the futures Nuclear, the futures VANE.

Global Nomad - 19 Feb 2007 08:08 - 1358 of 2220

Any ideas if today's news some background as to why the share price has been increasing recently? Or is this something extra added which will reinforce a further rise?

hlyeo98 - 19 Feb 2007 08:25 - 1359 of 2220

sp going up due to consolidation taking place in the uranium mining sector.

Vane Minerals PLC
19 February 2007

19th February 2007

VANE Minerals Plc (AIM: VML)

Acquisition of the North Alice Extension Project, Lisbon Valley, Utah

VANE Minerals Plc is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned uranium
subsidiary, VANE Minerals (US) LLC ('VANE (US)' or 'the Company'), has signed a
5 year renewable lease agreement on 18 lode claims (approximately 350 acres) in
the Lisbon Valley Uranium District of south-eastern Utah. The claims, which
make up the North Alice Extension Project, are located on and adjacent to the
North Alice Mine, formerly held and operated by Homestake Mining Company
('Homestake'), which produced about 2.5 million pounds of uranium oxide ('U3O8')
before closing in the early 1980's due to the falling price of uranium.

The south-eastern part of the claim group covers the northwest portion of the
North Alice Mine workings (including a sealed vent shaft) where the limited data
available at this stage indicates that resources appear to be in place. In
addition, the property covers an area which has had substantial drilling,
including delineation drilling, completed by Homestake during the early 1980's.

The Lisbon Valley has historically produced in excess of 78 million pounds U3O8
and includes the Rio Algom Lisbon Mine/Mill complex which is located one mile to
the northeast of the North Alice Extension Project on the down-thrown side of
the Lisbon Fault. The Lisbon Mine itself produced in excess of 18 million
pounds of U3O8 until being mined out and currently is in reclamation.

Mineralisation in the North Alice Extension Project occurs in stratabound units
on the up-thrown side of the Lisbon Fault at depths of 700-800 feet. The Company
is presently attempting to acquire additional data on the areas of
mineralisation that were drilled late in the exploration history of Lisbon
Valley, circa early 1980's. At the same time, the Company is drafting a Notice
of Intent to Drill to submit to the Bureau of Land Management to initially drill
25 confirmation holes. Drilling is expected to start in the second quarter of
2007 depending on approval. A drilling contractor has already been identified
for this drilling campaign.

Matthew Idiens, Director of Corporate Developments commented, 'The Company's
geologists believe the North Alice Extension Project has substantial resources
and excellent exploration potential. This acquisition further strengthens our
uranium portfolio and we are encouraged by the historical uranium production of
the Lisbon Valley area which provides evidence that this region is highly
mineralised. An aggressive drilling programme will commence as quickly as
possible as we aim to increase our uranium resources.'

Minas Charay

As reported in our interim results, a 26-hole drilling programme carried out at
Minas Charay did not confirm the large low-grade target and was only successful
in delineating a narrow high-grade precious metal vein system. Accordingly, this
project was assigned lower priority with all financial obligations being
terminated pending renegotiation with the local owner of the mineral rights to
this property.

The Board has decided not to proceed with the renegotiation as it was unable to
agree satisfactory terms and it wishes to concentrate its efforts on
exploitation of, and additions to, its uranium portfolio and the operation of
the successful Diablito mine. As previously noted, the Board feels that the Mina
Charay project's unfavourable results will not have a material effect on the
company.

Kristopher K. Hefton, Chief Operating Officer VANE Minerals (US) LLC, BSc
Geology, who meets the criteria of a qualified person under the AIM rule
guidance for mining, oil and gas companies, has reviewed and approved the
technical information contained within this announcement.
