THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

bos, we are clearly from the same parenting school.

the fact is that when the dog went away, tell them it was put down by lethal injection, put in a bin liner and incinerated. never sugar coat and tell them it went to "a loving family who lived by the beach."

simple truths.

bosley - 26 Sep 2005 10:21 - 1342 of 81564

too true. my girlfriend told me a heart breaking story , which made me piss myself laughing. her little cute bunny rabbit died when she was a child. her dad told her that they had a lovely funeral, flowers , candles, hymns, the lot. she felt sad, but happy that bunny had had a good send off. later that day she had to put some rubbish in the wheelie bin and when she opened it, there was bunny staring back at her!!!!! she still hasn't forgiven her father , so maybe you are right ,proptrade.

bos ,,proptrade ,i give my son (who's 16) a tanking at pool every week , however without my knowing he signed up for Champ Investor ,and creamed me,, he was ranked 30 something at one point , so i stopped his pocket money ,explaining that when your playing with real money you can lose it,, just like this ..

bosley - 26 Sep 2005 10:49 - 1345 of 81564

tough love.... that's what it's all about.

proptrade - 26 Sep 2005 10:53 - 1346 of 81564

Jimmy. On that note you have just been appointed Headmaster of the school of 'ard Knocks. The only reservation i have about your role is to ask why your son still has pocket monet at 16 (or not as the case may be) and why oh why is he not down mine already.

jimmy b - 26 Sep 2005 11:02 - 1347 of 81564

There are no mines round here , i'll look for a local chimney sweep and see if he can use him .

proptrade - 26 Sep 2005 11:06 - 1348 of 81564

i had a chat with my 6 year old and said he should go to the local stables to help muck out. if he does well i might by him some gloves for xmas and a spade for his birthday. i wouldn't want him to have both together because that would be spoiling 'im.

bosley - 26 Sep 2005 11:07 - 1349 of 81564

gloves and a spade???? proptrade , you're gonna make him soft if you buy him those. i mean, what's wrong with him using his hands?

proptrade - 26 Sep 2005 11:10 - 1350 of 81564

bos, thats what he would start with and then in a few months he will get the gloves and six months later the spade. you 'artless bugger.

he will have to use his pockets for the muck because aint now way i am shelling out for a bucket.

jimmy b - 26 Sep 2005 11:11 - 1351 of 81564

Abosolutely,, and send him off in a damp jumper it will toughen him up..

proptrade - 26 Sep 2005 11:26 - 1353 of 81564

jimmy b - 26 Sep 2005 11:28 - 1354 of 81564

Sounds like he got off lightly to me , my mum buried me in the back garden for 2 weeks for climing on the furniture..

proptrade - 26 Sep 2005 11:52 - 1357 of 81564

LOL!!!!! now that is rough love...

jimmy b - 26 Sep 2005 12:21 - 1358 of 81564

No ,i had to breath through a straw..

bosley - 26 Sep 2005 16:54 - 1359 of 81564

blimey, jimmy, you did have it hard. you should tell these stories to your kids, make them realise just how lucky they are. i'm going to be a dad for the first time in march and you guys have made me realise just how much i have to learn. infact , i may start using the belt on the missus, just for practice, like!! it might even stop her being sick and complaining about everything little thing. i thought women were supposed to bloom during pregnancy. all my missus does is wander round looking like she has two black eyes, saying , "feed me!!!" and then moans about feeling sick.

jimmy b - 26 Sep 2005 17:11 - 1360 of 81564

There should be some sort of home they can go to for 9 months ,and the govenment should provide money for you to have a young Swedish op to help around the house.
