Right, someone has to fully explain this.

Buy to Sell ratio is 2:1, and the price hasnt risen, WHY?????

I dont get it. Gonna start banging my head against the wall soon.......

pisces - 14 Dec 2005 11:53 - 13622 of 27111

Probably a large seller in the background Bugz, it might not show till 4.30pm.

Bema - 14 Dec 2005 12:04 - 13623 of 27111

Why is Stanelco Starpol better for mcdonalds than natureworks PLA?

Is there a Starpol foam with good heat retention properties or something?
I doubt mcdonalds are interested in MAP packaging or microwaving, both products could be considered green and i would have thought treated PLA(Starpol) was more expensive than PLA.

You can't doubt the RNS and i'm certainly not out to hit the share price but i'm wondering what the possible advantages are. To me they are not as clear cut as to Walmart.

Any ideas?

Confidant - 14 Dec 2005 12:07 - 13624 of 27111

Bugz

You said it yourself "possible reality" it sort of sums this company up and is probavly why the share is down

Bugz - 14 Dec 2005 12:14 - 13625 of 27111

Bema,

I think PLA has to be heated to biodegrade, this is not the case for Starpol.

Could be TOTALLY wrong, but from memory its something like that!!

Confidant & pises - just proper baffles me when twice as many people are buying the share and the price then ticks down. Perhaps a big seller, but doubt it though. You really do have top be an idiot to sell on the day SEO announce a RNS with Perseco.

Oh I dont know!!!!!! Lol.

markusantonius - 14 Dec 2005 12:24 - 13626 of 27111

Bugz, Sometimes when a buy is below the mid price, it records as a "sell" and vice versa. This has happened to me on other stocks in the past.

But tend to agree with a few posters that the follow-up statement: "Stanelco plans to update the market on trading and other developments shortly..." is seemingly very positive. Still holding for the time being!

Red Erik - 14 Dec 2005 12:32 - 13627 of 27111

Bema, the foamed starch is a good heat retainer, also there is at least one version of Starpol with good heat resistance, in other words it won't melt on contact with hot food like PLA would.

Look out for a much more informational Business Wire later or overnight, then see the US buying again.

Bugz

"You really do have to be an idiot to sell on the day SEO announce a RNS with Perseco."

Yeah, they give them selves a posher name though, Traders. Apparently they claim to be able to predict share price movements by a line on a page you know.

Bugz - 14 Dec 2005 12:40 - 13629 of 27111

Biscuit,

As a mere mortal such actions baffle me. Anyway, I'm sure they're richer than I am!

Biscuit - 14 Dec 2005 12:42 - 13630 of 27111

I wouldn't be too sure on that one Bugz but of course they'll claim they are, I think you'll probably find their brokers are very rich, not them!

bhunt1910 - 14 Dec 2005 12:57 - 13631 of 27111

I have to confess to trading these today - selling some at 17.75 this morning and buying back at 17. I dont want to be out of these - but I was disappointed with the initial RNS. I still do not think we know the full story here - abd I am still in for the long term. Someone said there is an EVO update tomorrow with figures - so that will be very interesting..Baza

Confidant - 14 Dec 2005 12:58 - 13632 of 27111

For me the stock is down because the news was known -- hence the 40% or so rise so far this month.

It was the RNS everyone was waiting for because the company had already told plenty of people about it. --- buy the "rumuor" sell the fact.

Also on this understanding of how the company manages its newflow i.e. good news is known well in advance of the news release the silence on the RF business is becoming deafening

bosley - 14 Dec 2005 13:12 - 13633 of 27111

confidant, i think you've read my mind there. if ssanebs is right and there is an evo update tomorrow, let's hope there is news of progress on the greenseal front!!

bhunt1910 - 14 Dec 2005 13:15 - 13634 of 27111

There HAS to be news on the greanseal front - otherwise IMO PI's will leave in droves

tweenie - 14 Dec 2005 13:32 - 13635 of 27111

Does anyone know if any form of STARPOL can be moulded into RIGID PLASTIC BOTTLE shapes?
In for the long haul.
still very happy.

Red Erik - 14 Dec 2005 13:39 - 13636 of 27111

Tweenie, yes it can be blow-moulded, and outperforms PLA as bottling plastic.

From the Perseco Web Site.

Our innovative packaging solutions range from providing core procurement services to a specialized set of critical packaging services. For example, we've developed an exceptional track record in new-market support. For McDonald's, we provide a consistent global graphic look to all packaging elements throughout the world.

Tonyrelaxes - 14 Dec 2005 16:58 - 13640 of 27111

I've not had the time (or patience!) to plough through Perseco's web site etc but have THEY mentioned the connection with SEO anywhere?
