Hil
Can you suggest a venue near the ground where I can meet up with some mates and have a few beers

hilary - 15 Sep 2004 17:38 - 13742 of 23498

Jeff,

The Mitre on the junction of Bishops Road and Dawes Road is where we go. It looks like a dive from outside but it's cushtie within and it's got a beer garden at the back if the weather's ok. I'm not going on Sunday myself, otherwise you could have bought me a Vodka Red Bull.

It's about a 10 minute walk to the ground and doesn't get too busy. There are plenty of pubs on the Broadway like Bootsy Brogans where we used to go, but they get so packed and you can't get to the bar.

I've just been listening to a webcast from Simon Cawkwell, he is such a jolly and erudite fellow, but how he ever makes a profit I cannot fathom. Apparently he likes red wine but I won't hold that against him. I wonder if he likes sherry trifle?

chocolat - 15 Sep 2004 19:43 - 13745 of 23498

I s'pose you would hold that against him, Socks
