Bioprogress is a stock I have been in and out of quite a few times since it floated in May but not much mention here on the Investors' Room. Does anyone else follow this stock. I see it is up 1.5p today and a few good buyers seem to have appeared.

I'm as amazed as everyone else, but it was in the charts with very steep downward momentum on good volumes for a few weeks. This 70-90p area has always been the most volatile. I'm looking for a buy level now, but can't decide whether it'll be in the 60's or 50's. I suspect we'll have to form a bottom somewhere anyway so no point in jumping in too quick as this one's the sharpest knife in the market. I'm a bit surprised so many hit the buy trigger today actually, but each to his own, I guess.

Continue to feel sorry for many of those "investing". This ain't good for the heart rate!!

I have to imagine there are a large number of traders/investors (shall we call them punters?) who bought on margin now in deep doodoo. It's safe to say that the compliance depts of GNI/IG/Cantor/Finspreads were busy on the telephones calling in margin. I imagine choice of closing had little to do with punters' "decisions" on the matter :) (or :( for some).

Whenever I think of buying on margin Please can I remember BPRG ++++ before I commit myself!!

But why can't I remember a bottom is never a bottom until 3 weeks later. For one day it is just another AH.

Quite possible. I also think some investors may have learned from their pain during the summer months too and set stops - I'm damn sure I would have given the depth to which many have got themselves sucked in. "eggs" and "baskets" seemed far too common a theme over the road during June/July. The relative volume sizes on this drop makes me suspect some set stops and have been triggered.

On the GNI question. I'm not sure they should be lumped with the spreadbetter/CFD companies. Every trade I've ever seen of mine through GNI has always seen in the market as a trade. They don't keep it in house. The remainder of these companies do seem to keep an "in-house" book, as it were.

On margin trading/investing, Fred, you have to have your money management house in order. If you don't you are doomed!!

Assuming the "Forced sellers snowball effect" is true. Are we due a rebound, and if so how big ? (Please say VERY big)

A bit early to say IMO. Think we've still got a bit of uwinding to do and form a clear base. It took a while in the summer and there's no reason to suppose it will be different this time. Having said that, you never know in the markets or with BPRG!!

Just watch and make your judgement. ;-)

Pleased to say I have kept away from this little baby for some time, as it is too hot for someone like me who is not willing to watch the screen like a hawk.

Kivver , as you don't seem to have been round too long my best guess is that your another useless poster who has had to reincarnate himself under a different name.

Stick round long enough and you may get the hang of it and don't go looking to Bones for sympathy as although we have often had differing views about bprg I can respect his position unlike the idiots like you who plague the bprg threads.

It will come back to a reasonable price of about 110+, but its going to be slow unless there are some institutional buyers at these prices. There seems to be interest and Buys outway sells. It will be interesting to watch.

As far as money management is concerned I have always thought above my means but generally lived within them.
My CFDs are purely phantom at the moment and may remain that. But the trouble is improving a skill seems more rewarding than increasing the pot. Thanks anyway. I have been told I am tighter than a --- ----.

Yeah and when me dad gives me this weeks pocket money I'm gonna buy a shed load of these cos they can't get any cheaper and a guy in the pub said contract news due Friday.

Bioprogress was caught in a vicious downward spiral after illness forced Graham Hind, chief executive of the AIM-listed technology licensing vehicle, to cancel an interview with www.iii.com, the investment website.

Exciteable shareholders, who mistook his withdrawal as a harbinger of bad news, sold the stock short, triggering a squeeze on the large number of investors exposed to Bioprogress through contracts for difference. Some 24 million shares changed hands, closing 14p cheaper at 69p.

And the slump in the share price of punters' favourite BioProgress, accelerated. Its shares were down 14.75p at 69.5p as some investors faced cash calls to fund their losses

Aim-listed biopharmaceuticals company Bioprogress tumbled 14.75 to 69.5p on rumours that chief executive Graham Hind had resigned after he cancelled an interview with an investor website. Turnover was 24.22m shares, worth 21pc of the company, compared with the usual 4m.

However, a spokesman said: "There is no truth to rumours he is leaving the company. He has the flu."

Dealers also added that a large contract for difference position was being unwound.

THE GUARDIAN

Among the smaller companies - Bioprogress - which makes films that dissolve in the mouth, was the most noticeable feature. Its shares fell 14.75p, or 17.5%, to 69.5p in heavy trading - about 20% of the company changed hands - as rumours did the rounds that chief executive Graham Hind had quit.

In fact, what had happened was that Mr Hind had not been able to do an interview on a popular investment website because he was unwell. Consequently market makers took advantage of the confusion to pull the Bioprogress quote lower and flush out investors holding the stock on margin.

Blimmey this is becoming a playground, where did all the level headed posting go... The fundamentals of the company have not changed, GH has got the flu, BPRG won the Court Case (damages due)... It's top up time at very cheap prices...

blasted PC is too slow - saw 65p buy this am and tried to get on to Xest but kept kicking me out - when I finally got on price was 68p. Will there still be a RNS today?
