Oh Decisions, decisions .......

Martini - 16 Oct 2015 18:41 - 122 of 163

I can't back a team who's supporters have such a long history of racism ... so it will have to be South Africa for me.

Dil - 17 Oct 2015 14:54 - 123 of 163

Lol .... you know you'll all be supporting us.

Heading out not confident but with a growing air of optimism , crowd could swing it for us.

COME ON WALES !!!!

Gausie - 17 Oct 2015 18:15 - 124 of 163

Now that was a bizarre experience - I was the only Wales supporter in a room full of passionate bokkies.

Martini - 17 Oct 2015 18:15 - 125 of 163

Time to start the 6 Nations thread? Mind you with Wales back to full strength by then not sure I am looking forward to that too much.

Fred1new - 17 Oct 2015 18:19 - 126 of 163

Phew.

Wales unlucky, but SA deserve the win.

Don't think I have seen a game played at such a pace and with such commitment before.

Well played both sides!

Dil - 17 Oct 2015 21:32 - 127 of 163

Some of our players are out til next season guys so don't worry guys your in with a chance.

Bullshare - 18 Oct 2015 10:55 - 130 of 163

Dil; Hope you have recovered from the problems last night:-)

Great game to watch but far too much kicking of the ball.

As many S Africans at Twickers as Welsh but vocally Welsh won hands done

ExecLine - 18 Oct 2015 17:50 - 131 of 163

What bad luck for Scotland to lose by just the odd point out of 69 of them in what was a truly exciting fantastic game with loads of brilliant tackles.

Australia 35 Scotland 34

Gausie - 18 Oct 2015 18:17 - 132 of 163

In the Southern Hemisphere our equivalent of the 6 nations is The Championship Cup. It'll be nice to now see it played as a proper knockout cup,

Fred1new - 18 Oct 2015 18:19 - 133 of 163

Yes.

The standard of Rugby in the whole competition has been brilliant.

It makes you wonder what they could do if they were really fit?

An amazing weekend of Rugby, can it get any better?

RFU have announced their England review panel, how on earth did Ben Kay get chosen his first name is not Ian:-)

The five-man panel features:
Ben Kay, ex-England forward with 62 caps and 2003 World Cup winner
Sir Ian McGeechan, former Scotland and British and Irish Lions coach
Ian Ritchie, RFU chief executive
Ian Metcalfe, Professional Game Board chairman
Ian Watmore, England Rugby 2015 board member and former Football Association chief executive

Fred1new - 19 Oct 2015 16:15 - 136 of 163

That is the three-quarters.

Where are the forwards?

skinny - 19 Oct 2015 16:16 - 137 of 163

No shit Sherlock! - Referee Joubert 'may have sensed hostility'

ExecLine - 19 Oct 2015 21:26 - 138 of 163

well, the crowd were throwing bottles at him but they couldn't see to aim properly through their tears of despair.

Scotland led Australia 34-32 with two minutes to go when Joubert ruled Jon Welsh was deliberately offside, awarding a penalty that Bernard Foley kicked to earn the Wallabies a place in the last four.

However, replays suggested Australia's Nick Phipps touched the ball back to Welsh and Joubert could have awarded a scrum rather than a penalty.

Scotland coach Vern Cotter and captain Greig Laidlaw believe Joubert should have consulted the television match official, although tournament regulations only allow the officials to use video replays to rule on foul play, or whether tries and kicks at goal are legitimate.

Here's a clip of added explanation about some of what you might not yet know about:

The ref' sprinted off the field at the close of play. Perhaps it was actually a 'bottling out'?

Gausie - 20 Oct 2015 07:25 - 139 of 163

I'm particularly looking forward to the play-offs for fifth place.

Or, as its more commonly known, 'the six nations'.

Fred1new - 20 Oct 2015 10:35 - 140 of 163

If you go back a minute or two, before the said "infringement", there was what I think a deliberate shoulder charge late tackle on the Scottish full-back after he made his kick.

It would have been a sending off offence.

That incensed the Scots crowd and started the booing.

I thought the linesman would have drawn attention to the deliberate foul.

C'est la vie!
