GOLD OIL, the London-based oil exploration company focused on the South American and Caribbean region, announces that in late December 2005, the Company received an Operator Certificate from PeruPetro that allows the Company to carry out seismic, drilling and development operations in Northwest Peru.
The Promotion Licence signed with PeruPetro on October 15, 2004 with PeruPetro for Block XI (now renamed Block XXI) onshore Sechura Basin has been converted to an Exploration and Production Licence. The Licence now goes to the Ministry of Energy and Mines for approval, which could be forthcoming anytime between February and May of this year 2006.
The terms of the E&P Licence commit the Company to either shoot 120 km of 2D seismic or drill a well in the first period of five over a seven year term. The remaining four periods require the Company to either drill a well or drop the acreage. The Licence is for a term of 30 years for oil and 40 years for gas, with a minimum royalty of 5% on wellhead production for the first 5000bopd (30 MMscfd for gas) rising to 20% if and when production reaches 100,000 bopd (600 MMscfd for gas).
Times Article:
Gold Oil is valued in the market at about 15m. That is so small that almost any good news must have a big impact on the share price.
What are the chances of that happening? Run by a former Burmah Oil director, Mike Burchell, Gold Oil will drill the first in a series of wells in the Sechura Basin in April. There will be surprise if it does not find gas, as another company, Olympic, has done just that in a similar formation nearby.
The secondary target, later in the year, will be oil, I gather. A couple of months ago, Petro Tech made a big oil find offshore in the Sechura Basin. The theory is the oil may have migrated up into Gold Oils block. Dont ask me to explain the geology because I dont speak Palaeozoic. But a decent oil find here would be a company-maker.
Gold Oil has enough cash to fund this years drilling programme. And it already has a deal in place to sell its gas to Mann Ferrostaal, a German company that is building an ammonia plant nearby. Getting all that for 15m seemed a bargain to me. But Gold Oil still has to find its gas.

OK, we have a bit of good news and i am happy about it. However Goo must restore its excellent reputation by dealing with the way it communicates with the market. Why? because the perception of a company is paramount and can not be played with. I hope next time they communicate more fluently with the market. look at regal, their reputation was the main problem even though they have oil. look at my lovely FAO, the market perception of FAO is not top banana at the moment even though they will be producing at least 7000bopd in Q3 2007. but with the new management in place they know that must change and it is changing. I don't want GOO to put itself in that position. the last two weeks poor communication must stop. Give to the market the news they are waiting for. Having said that GOO is top banana juicy little fish and they are learning fast. 600bopd can become 1400bopd. I did not forget san alberta in peru, z34, Brazil and if i am correct that 600bopd is for Nancy but there is burdine and her sister. Well forgive my long speech. I am not in manchester like Tony but in London. Best luck

hi everyone! At last there is some action going on now, but yet there is no rns relating to the update on their website. I agree with georgetrio communication with the shareholders should be absolutely important. If you get trust in the company then people will to you. I was very disappointed with the final report statement, which left me and i'm sure alot other people with a load of questions and uncertainy.
Maybe they are waiting for the pump to be fixed before announcing the proper rns re colombia?

A week has passed since the pump broke we were told it would take 'several days' I imagine it's about ready again by now, I certainly hope so and if so it would be nice if they let us know.

I repeat this from page 74 I got it last night -
Just in by e. mail - We have a press release doing the rounds, but are having problems getting written proof of what we are saying is correct. (Need lots of proof for everything these days as the Nomad is afraid of making a mistake a la Regal).Nancy having mechanical problems with the surface pumps. Release waiting for that.
The RNS would spread the good news.

My, My this Gary Moore seems to be busy to replying everybody emails! At least he is trying to keep up the good relations with the shareholders. Give him credit for that...At least he is aware of a load confusion going on lately.
I think that is very good sign for me, giving me some confidence back with the company.

Apologies, but the status report for September 15 is incomplete.
The downhole pump failed and was replaced by the vendor, and then the surface pump failed and was replaced by the vendor. In the meantime the well flowed in slug flow at rates of between 467 and 738 bbls per day for a period of 12 hours before the surface pump failed again. The initial flow contained 60% oil, 30% completion fluid from cleaning up the well and 10% emulsion. The surface pump is being replaced yet again. Its too early to say yet what the well will produce, but if we can ever get a pump that works it is still on target for 450 - 500 bopd.
