FTSE + FTSE 250 - consider trading (FTSE)

cynic - 20 Oct 2007 12:12

rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

I'm thinking it should go back to around 6744 to maintain bullish sentiment.

I closed that one in profit +7 and the 6717.8 for +15.

However, I still have the one from 6,764.6 - why on earth didn't I just stay short?

skinny - 10 Jul 2014 16:17 - 15978 of 21973

Cheers Shortie - closed FTSE +15, only have the one @6,764.6.

I've been watching the DAX this afternoon - one of your favs?

Shortie - 10 Jul 2014 16:28 - 15979 of 21973

I just have one FTSE bet at the moment at 6675.8. Have closed a few profits but mainly taken losses today... Expect the DAX to remain under pressure for as long as the Portugal issue is in play... Now what was it super Mario was banging on about the last few months to do with supporting the banking sector... I'm surprised there's not been a statement...

Shortie - 14 Jul 2014 11:02 - 15980 of 21973

FTSE long now nicely in the money
