THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

question time , CAMERON IS A VERY DISHONEST PERSON .

greekman - 13 Jun 2012 14:07 - 17083 of 81564

Well said, Haystack,

Also a big problem is that many people from these countries come to the UK bringing their beliefs, cultures with them, hence witchcraft murders, IE the killing and mutilation of the body of the young boy found in the Thames, arranged forced marriages and honour killings etc.
I have no problem with beliefs, culture differences, as long as those beliefs and cultures do not conflict in any harmful way with ours.

As Muslim said to the Sikh and the Sikh said to the Hindu and the Hindu said to the Catholic and the Catholic said to the Protestant and they all said to the Atheist.

(Put your own commas in.)

As the government is cutting expenses by making the costs of the Armed Forces by making them invisible, will the referendum in the Falklands defend it against Argentina or whoever wants it?

Greek,

The problem with some, is that they don't realise when they are being offensive.

(That is more worrying than the insults.

SO WHY DON'T YOU STOP DOING IT THEN ?

Fred1new - 13 Jun 2012 15:09 - 17087 of 81564

Doing what?

In some cases my remarks can be read as being descriptive, satirical and offensive.

Certainly, some of remarks are attempting to reflect discussion and reflections on held positions.

Although it is difficult sometimes, generally I avoid being deliberately offensive, unless of course, it is in response to what I see as attempts at being personally abusive.

chuckles - I think it says 'alds' not 'aids'! :-)

I believe it's possible to edit our own posts?

Fred1new - 13 Jun 2012 19:42 - 17093 of 81564

Chuckle.

It is, but I didn't.

But have pointed out in the past that some on this board need help.

However, because I am/was dyslexic I occasionally may edit out spelling mistakes, or clarify my wording.

On the posting you draw attention to, I didn't.

Also, if you look back through my postings of recent times I have use Ald or alds.

(I hope it is not projection of fears.)

It may not be new, but I've just come across the term 'drachmageddon' - well it made me smile.

One tonne kebab breaks record

The world's largest doner kebab has entered the Guiness world record books in Turkey, weighing in at a hefty 1198 kilograms.

Hanging from a crane in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Tuesday (June 12), a Guiness official measured the kebab and confirmed its new place as largest in the world.

The one tonne doner, made from the meat of seven cows, had to be prepared by 10 cooks.

Cooks were forced to stand on special scaffolding to cut the 2.5 metre long kebab as spectators waited in line to try it in a sandwich.

The previous record holder weighed in at only 468 kilograms.

greekman - 14 Jun 2012 08:25 - 17097 of 81564

Skinny,

I am getting very annoyed with posts such as 'Greeks in denial'.

Its lies, I tell you all lies.
Its propaganda by the EU (German) machine.
We are not, never have been and never will be in denial.
You will be saying next that we are all paranoid.

In fact we are being very clever and it is actually the Greeks that are conning the rest of the EU.

We want the Euro to fail, as while other countries have been buying our bonds (no Greek can understand why, as we wouldn't touch them with a barge pole) we have been withdrawing as much as we can out of our banks and either stashing it under our mattresses or buying German bonds (a far better deal than buying our own, which are about as good an ivestment as buying dead ferrets).
When the Euro fails, we will then wait till our revived currency, the Drachma finds it own level on the money markets, dropping so low it will force the EU zone to support the exchange rate, making the Drachma stronger than the pre Euro close rate.
This will happen within days.
That is when we will flood the international markets via the supported exchange rate with all the Drachmae that we kept stashed, just waiting for this day to come.

To make our master plan work, all we want is a few more Zillion Euros to be put into our country, as every Euro put into this bottomless hole will when we refuse to pay it back, make all the EU countries poorer except ourselves of course as we will still have the money, as we are not really spending it, just cooking the books to make it look like we are, a bit like our income tax returns.

We know who the mugs really are.

skinny - 14 Jun 2012 08:30 - 17098 of 81564

Greek - take your pick :-)

greekman - 14 Jun 2012 08:37 - 17099 of 81564

I go for Jennifer Aniston over a dead ferret any day.

Mind you, as I have now lived in Yorkshire for most of my life, if it came to J A and a nice young sheep?
One reason why I moved to Yorkshire, those Greek goats can't half move.

Enough, enough of this frivolity, I must get back to planning the destruction of the EU!
