Dowgate Capital (DGT) are sitting
in the middle of a goldmine!
This company through
their sole trading arm City Financial Associates are looking to take full
advantage of the "booming" AIM market this year.
Dowgate provide NOMAD (NOMinated ADvisor) services to AIM companies
and also have full Corporate Broker status which means that they can fund
placements on behalf of the companies they represent.
|
|
On first sight, the
fact that Dowgate exist in the often veiled financial services sector
makes you think twice about investing in company such as this because
it would be impossible to understand what they were doing - however, think
again!
DGT bring new companies
to the AIM (Alternative Investment Market). For each new company "floated"
on AIM, they take arrangement fees when acting as NOMAD. After the company
is launched then for a nice steady earner DGT get another healthy chunk
of cash every year for looking after them (note that all AIM companies
must have a nominated adviser - thereby securing a ready source of recurring
income).
Because DGT also act
as a Corporate broker they can get a very healthy percentage for arranging
placement of shares with insititutions before a new company floats. In
addition, because placements come outside the sphere of yearly NOMAD work,
they can also gain healthy percentages of placements which companies may
need to make throughout the year when they need a quick injection of cash
to speed growth.
Current NOMADships:
28 companies represented (gives recurring income of approx 480,000
per year)
Current on-going Brokerage
agreements: 19 companies (income depends on placements)
For flotations, depending
on the size of a company, fees charged will be anything from 50,000
to 100,000+
For placements (the real earner), DGT get anything from 3% to around 12%
of the TOTAL AMOUNT RAISED - For example a new company raising 3M
though a placement will earn DGT anything from 90,000 to 360,000
!
These figures are indicative as actual deals all differ due to circumstances
and DGT sometimes take payment in shares - they still have a tasty chunk
of Setstone shares and when this Russian exploration company comes back
to AIM, predictions are that the share price will rocket.
Note that the amount that this little company can earn in fees is huge
and every new deal that comes through we know will contribute another
healthy chunk into the bottom line. The good news with every new floatation
means that it's another chunk of recurring revenue which could go on for
years, with DGT having to do very little.

bj - I use Digital Look, which is free to register.
http://www.digitallook.com/
I got a free year's trial of LIVE Streaming Tades and Prices, but not sure they still offer this. Otherwise prices etc are 15 minutes delayed, but there is a good deal of all sorts of info and stock picking and brokers estimates and durectors dealings etc - good site generally, I find.
MAM Level2 is too pricey for me.

i was with this company and had a bundel of shares
now as the lads on here know i liked this share and could see possibilities for it
then certain ppl in and out the company sold there shares at same time which had a major bad effect on share price
since then i have sold my shares at a record loss for me and will serve me as a learning curve for my future investments
but i distract
bottom line is this share looks good and should fly but it never does why?????????
imho i think its because of two things
1) the lack of news that comes out of this company is deafening(i know ppl dont want leaks or anything but a bit more news on how things are )like a monthly or two monthly news release might help))
2) the amount of bullshit spread on these bb is overboard(imho of course), the same ppl with the same crap that they spill year in year out this company is a great gower and stuff like that.
time to stop ramping ppl and make ppl take a look at what this company can do
as ive said before hell will freeze over before i get back into this one and yes i have made my losses back but in a strange way id like to see this make money to make me feel like i did not buy into a turkey
just my opinion and not anything else

Ride it out chaps, I would be adding if I had the funds.
You would not get big players buying many millions at the price they paid if there was anything seriously wrong with the company.

Found this on another BB over at advfn posted by kanebill.
Am I the only one who can see a real problem looming with DGT? Remember Griffin from last year? Bought in and then sold out; reason unknown but may even have been benevolent at the time.
However, DGT seem to be overly reliant on the Griffin Group (read Stephen Dean & Vincent Nicholls and all their subsidiary companies)for both new business work and retainer fees. If they decide that DGT is not serving them well and they remove their business then DGT will be a worth a fraction of what it is now and would certainly be non profitable and the SP would plummet.
"All your eggs in one basket" springs to mind.
DGT could then be bought on the cheap by any one of griffins cash shells being reversed into DGT.
I'm beginning to think that DGT have only been made profitable because of Griffin. Looking at Griffins companies, there does not seem to be much there, other than fundraising for possible speculative acquisition (and paying directors).
Will be watching to see if TR gets a Griffin (or subsidiary) directorship.
Definitely getting edgy.
Someone please come up with the rose tinted spec view and put my mind to rest.
