tHANKS bARNEY - JUST FOUND IT ON THE bIOTEC SITE

antofelli - 22 Jun 2006 14:49 - 17383 of 27111

Being a Biotec product does it mean that any profit coming from wrap 100 will be 50% Stanelco and 50% Sphere?

oblomov - 22 Jun 2006 15:36 - 17384 of 27111

I would imagine so.

garyble - 22 Jun 2006 16:17 - 17385 of 27111

Just guessing here, but if solely an SEO patented product, would they not license it to Biotec therefore getting 100% license fee, plus 50% of the profit?

Looks like old news It's on the reseach page
55) WRAP 100 receives US FDA approval 25th May 2006

May 25, 2006 03:48 PM London Timezone
Stanelco plc (``Stanelco'' or ``the Company'') - WRAP 100 Receives US FDA Approval
ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 25, 2006--Stanelco is pleased to announce that FDA compliance for its new material, WRAP 100, made principally from sustainable resources, has now been confirmed by Pira International (the UK approved testing house for the FDA) for food contact approval.

This material's properties do not allow oil or moisture to pass through it, whilst permitting moisture vapor to permeate out. It can be used for hot, fast foods like burgers as it stops condensation occurring that can adversely affect food quality. Unlike waxed paper, it is a fully biodegradable material with obvious environmental benefits and can compete on a cost neutral basis with such materials. WRAP 100 is significantly lighter than existing packing, which presents potential cost savings and, in addition, will provide customers with reduced transport costs and landfill taxes.

WRAP 100 is currently being trialled by a major quick service restaurant and has passed preliminary testing. With this approval it can now undergo live trialling in restaurants.

The material can be used in any application where waxed paper is used. In addition, due to its heat-sealing qualities it is also possible to make bags out of the material at a competitive cost relative to paper bags which have to be glued. The approval allows the full range of applications to be live trialled in the US by prospective customers, not just within the quick service restaurant sector but across the retail sector in general.

Martin Wagner, CEO of Stanelco, commented: "We are very excited about the opportunities for WRAP 100. It has properties that will help significantly improve packaging quality in the fast food sector, whilst at the same time providing benefits to the environment. FDA compliance allows live trialling of the product and means that it can be sold for food packaging applications within the USA.

"Stanelco continues to research and develop other new product ranges using our IP to maintain our reputation as a market leader in new packaging materials and systems across the globe.

"On another matter, I am pleased to update the position on Greenseal communicated by our chairman at our recent AGM. We are continuing to make significant strides with our Multivac conversions with trials into both a salad and meat supplier to Asda going well. The Proseal AP60 currently being converted for Hitchin Foods is consistently performing in our factory in Southampton having run for 8 hours continuously for several days without any issues."

Thanks Oblo,

Was being lazy and simply went on the: "developed by Stanelco (Southampton / UK; www.stanelco.co.uk)" instead of looking it up.

So only 50% of profit then!

oblomov - 23 Jun 2006 08:05 - 17390 of 27111

Something Barney didn't include in his post was the final sentence of the report, which I think is new - i.e.

'Stanelco says the material has passed preliminary testing at a major quick service restaurant. '

Full report here:-

thanks oblo that was not on my pda version of the report.

And another one joins the growing list. How long before there are more states, area's, then countries with these bans than without.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. The city of Santa Monica could soon ban the use of non-recyclable packaging for takeout food and beverages.

markusantonius - 26 Jun 2006 12:50 - 17393 of 27111

Can anyone accurately predict where the bottom/resistance level will be here?

greekman - 26 Jun 2006 13:36 - 17394 of 27111

I don't think anyone can with anything near accuracy. To my mind, using charts, on shares such as SEO are next to useless ( no insult to chartists ) as the sole movements up or down are due mainly to news, or lack of, with a bit of influence by the general mood of the market.

EWRobson - 26 Jun 2006 15:28 - 17395 of 27111

Markus: it is reasonable to view the placing price, 8.2p I think, as a support level. After all, there were a significant number of buyers at that level and they will have been party to a full briefing and, I expect, subjected the share to decent analysis. They are also unlikely to sell until a reasonable profit has been made. The big question is how robust the support level is. The previous support level of 13p was also a level at which significant funding had been obtained and it proved pretty resilient until eventually breached. My view would be that the level should hold unless news is so poor that it pushes projections of significant revenue too far into the future for most investors.

Eric,

I've been reading through the AGM statement and other, earlier RNS's and my thinking is that something must be very close by now. After all, Wal-Mart asked for certain lines to be "fast-tracked". Hopefully FDA approval for Starpol 3000 won't be long either which some projects could be waiting for. The Wrap 100 trial should be well on it's way also. Anyway, lets see what it says in the results. The EVO note from Feb said that they hoped to have MMF deals by the end of June, I would think discussions are pretty advanced by now. Any other thoughts?

Cheers,

Biscuit

greekman - 26 Jun 2006 17:33 - 17397 of 27111

Biscuit,

I fully agree with your comment ( "something must be very close by now" ), for exactly the same reasons you have given. Let's hope we don't have long to wait.

Biscuit - 26 Jun 2006 17:45 - 17398 of 27111

Hi Greekman,

Reading the AGM statement, everything still reads very positive. I think the MMF deals will have taken quite a while to negotiate, due to the complexity of funding etc. They seem pretty confident that Greenseal is almost there too. My own thought is that the FDA approval will be a key trigger. i doubt anything would be signed until they have that.

EWRobson - 26 Jun 2006 18:22 - 17399 of 27111

My main note of caution would be that SEO are dealing with the really big boys. They have gone for broke, you could say, and one only hopes that they have bitten off more than they can chew. Even the ASDA deal seems to have gone through various hurdles before it could be considered 'commercial', presumably actually paying for the services rather than everlasting trials. Strangely enough, Greenseal roll-out with ASDA suppliers from July (if 80 days was accurate forecast) and contracts with another supermarket(s) from September could be first significant cash.

Biscuit - 26 Jun 2006 18:40 - 17400 of 27111

Hi Eric,

I think that Starpol is the key really as it works on existing machines and isn't mechanical. It has to be remembered though, that it's the "really big boys" who appear to have beaten a path to SEO's door. ASDA must still be pretty happy otherwise Wal-Mart wouldn't have become involved. I personally think that Perseco could be the first movers on a deal for Starpol.

Cheers,

Biscuit
