THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Judges said their extradition "may proceed immediately".

A Home Office spokesman, meanwhile, welcomed the decision and said it was "working to extradite these men as quickly as possible".

Can we assume that you both, H/S and Tanks have a one way ticket for that plane?

Fred1new - 05 Oct 2012 17:24 - 18567 of 81564

I think further investigations into MPs' finances for the last 20 years and especially the last 5 years would be more fruitful.

Also, of financial arrangements of those who have left or will leave office in the over the last 5 years and for the next 10 years would I expect to be rewarding places to examine.

=================

I hope those 2 planes are not flying over London, I am a little paranoid about Americans and their intentions.

================

Its is a pity that those being exported probably don't drink.

I can just imagine Hays with a tray and serviette pandering to theis needs and the pilot a little more intoxicated than usual.

8-)

Fred1new - 05 Oct 2012 17:25 - 18568 of 81564

Stan,

What about a half way ticket?

skinny - 05 Oct 2012 17:36 - 18569 of 81564

Stan - plain what? :-)

Fred1new - 05 Oct 2012 17:43 - 18570 of 81564

Skinny,

That is where the plane is landing.

They will need a licence for that tooooooo.

=====================

Good American figures.

Why, or how have they achieved it?

TANKER - 05 Oct 2012 18:09 - 18571 of 81564

Stan - 05 Oct 2012 18:25 - 18572 of 81564

Fred, I hadn't thought about a half way one... Interesting -):

Skinny , I see that you have spotted my deliberate spelling mistake (now corrected).. To save any possible embarrassment can you do so quicker then the 15 mins that you took this time.... I thank you -):

Police convoy has arrived at Abu Hamza's jail.

update

convoy now left jail

Fred1new - 05 Oct 2012 20:44 - 18574 of 81564

I didn't know Abu Hamza had a jail.

I can see headlines

"Property owner thrown out of Britain."

================

Personally. I prefer the sentiment of the following which I read numerous times as a child :-

Abou Ben Adhem

Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An angel writing in a book of gold:—
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the Presence in the room he said
"What writest thou?"—The vision raised its head,
And with a look made of all sweet accord,
Answered "The names of those who love the Lord."
"And is mine one?" said Abou. "Nay, not so,"
Replied the angel. Abou spoke more low,
But cheerly still, and said "I pray thee, then,
Write me as one that loves his fellow men."

The angel wrote, and vanished. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And showed the names whom love of God had blessed,
And lo! Ben Adhem's name led all the rest.

By Leigh Hunt.

Seems almost an antipathy to Tank's obvious humility.

PS,

I am an atheist, but the symbolism appealed to me!
