THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Water associated with the salt (which is hydroscopic)is easier to excite than fat in the butter, so more friction and quicker heating? H

Also, maybe the "melting point" is changed because of salt diffused through the block even though it is fat.

You shouldn't be eating butter anyway!

Cable to review 'sham' company directors

Business Secretary Vince Cable says officials will examine the abuse of one of the cornerstones of corporate secrecy, nominee directors.

Responding to a Panorama investigation that found some nominee directors were shams and being used to facilitate tax evasion, Mr Cable said he will be reviewing their role.

N,

I agree.

I wish I knew why French salted Normandy or Brittany butter tastes so good.

I find it difficult to refuse.

Scams.

---------------

I was in Paris a short time ago and was walking down the C De L and taking photos of the Arc de T.

I notice a young woman standing on a corner opposite the A de T and it seemed a good place to take a photo."

As I moved to her "corner" to photo she bent down and looked astonished and bent down to the pavement and appeared to pick up something and proceeded towards me and showed me a ?"gold" ring and asked if it was mine and demonstrated thatit was too big for her.

I said that it wasn't mine and she then offered to me.

I refused and moved on.

Noticing that she then vacated her "spot" and moved off, to be "replaced" by another "maiden" who seemed to be looking around aimlessly when I looked back from another position.

Not sure, but I thought that it was an attempt at a scam of some kind.

Its about time the general public realised that builders do not need more land and that lack of building plots are not the cause of lack of new builds.
There are currently approx 220,000 building plots in their land banks.
The reasons they are not building on these plots is because no one can afford to buy in the present financial climate.
The only reason they want more land, is because they know if they buy at todays prices, these plots will be worth more in a few years time.

Also I am fed up of hearing that, 'We need more houses', well we don't, we need less people.
It is said we need over a million houses over the next 10 years, but what happens after that time period, are they then going to say that there will no more houses built.
No of course not, they will need another million and so on infoad infi nitum.
About 2 miles from where I live they built a hospital on a flood plain, which has now pushed more water from the flood plain into the nearby river causing more flooding in the area.
About 30 years ago new Police Headquarters were built on another local flood plain.
Quess what has happened, after being totally flooded twice, these headquarters have now been abandoned.
On Sunday a main road nearby was closed due to flooding.
There are no rivers or streams near this road, but the flooding (a regular occurance) was caused by water streaming from nearby fields where permision has just been granted for 800 houses to be built.
When these fields are covered in concrete, where will all this water go.
It will run off onto the fields opposite causing danger to other properties already in situ.
The only answer is not more house, but less people.
It is as plain as day, that this island of ours is vastly over crowded.
When will the powers that be admit this fact, or is it a case of building money talks.
I am not bothered what colour or creed that foriegners are, but all immigration has to stop unless it will benifit the country, IE the immigrant can put more in than they take out.
This country is sinking!

re immigration-----I don't think that will happen greekman, 'NHS treatment FREE to all immigrants'
