Very well thanks, we'll hold the fort while you go off to Aussie again, you lucky devil. Actually Tim a friend and I have been invited to do the Sydney Hobart race next Xmas, and it looks like we will be going so could meet you out there next year.

Colin, definateley that would be fun, last year we watched the start in Sydney and then went down to Hobart and watched the finish (or was it the year before). We normally arrive on boxing day, a friend always has a party in the afternoon and his flat overlooks the start.
Can I take part with my RYA stage 2 certificate???

Tim
How long did the average cruisers take to get to Hobart?

It comes highly recommended but I can't afford to stay there. Apparently the service is second to none. None of this kettle and teabags in your room, fresh tea served when you ask for it.

Soz, jj - that other piccie was another friend's boat in the regatta - needless to say, they won - I think the clue might be in the little white blobby bits way in the background...

The Marylin is owned by a French geezer. You can see who the owners are on the site - the Anouk is a 58' Swan - I flew back from Turkey last week with a guy who was going to crew on it.

Colin, checked but I didnt keep good records, we flew down on 27/12 and I am pretty sure the winners came in that afternoon. We stayed in hobart for the next 3 days or so and there were boats coming in all the time. It was fun there.

It was 2002/3 not 2003/4 that we went.

By winners I meant the first boats into Hobart not the overall winners !

No, need to open another bottle. Where's Stormie when you need him!
All this talk of water and boats - too much for me at the moment.
