Hello traders!

In the US tonight, in late trading, the Dow rose 100.37 to 11,474.48, while the S&P 500 was up 13.03 at 1,312.57 and the Nasdaq Composite rose 39.24 to 2,212.49.

Good morning traders!

In Asia today, the Hang Seng ended the morning up 143.41 points at 17,218.81, while the Nikkei was recently up 87.93 points at 15,807.27.

New York's main oil contract, light sweet crude for October delivery, was up 3
cents at $63.79 a barrel from $63.76 in late US trade overnight.

$60 a barrel for oil will do as the new minimum thanks.

US economy is robust, says Fed's Poole

"....The economy is not fragile - it is robust," said Poole, although he noted that "that's not to say we couldn't have a weak quarter or two."

Poole flatly dismissed the idea that he was softening his views on inflation after some investors interpreted recent comments of his as being rather dovish for a reputed hawk..........."
