Fund raising Concert (GIG)

splat - 14 Sep 2006 14:27

I am putting on a gala fundraising concert in association with Classic FM in the Cadogan Hall, London, on September 20th. It is to raise money for the Two Moors Festival which I have been heavily involved with since it's inception in 2001 as resident pianist.
It is a most inspiring musical event and one that is the brainchild of Penny Adie, it's Musical Director. It was originally set up to help raise funds for the farmers in Devon during the disastrous foot and mouth crisis of 2001, but has since burgeoned into a yearly event with many top artists taking part. The festival is in partnership with Classic FM.

I decided after last year's Festival in October, that I would like to give something back, so have put together this concert. Our Patron is Julian Lloyd-Webber('cello), who is also playing. Other artists are me(pianist), Guy Johnston('cello, former BBC Young Musician of the Year), Dave Childs(euphonium player and BBC Young Musician Finalist), Thomas Guthrie(baritone), Carolyn Dobbin(mezzo soprano), Owen Gunnell(percussionist, BBC Young Musician Finalist) Alison Farr(pianist, another BBC Young Musician Finalist), Anna Tilbrook(pianist), Ingrid Surgenor(pianist you will have seen and heard her as accompanist to the Cardiff Singer of the World), Leon McCawley(one of Britain's finest concert pianists), Tamsin Waley-Cohen(violin), Oliver Wilson(viola), Tim Gibbs(double bass), Anna Wolstenholme(flute), Pauline Lowbury(violin) and Harriet Adie(harp). The compere will be Stephanie Hughes from Radio 3.

All the artists have given their services and it promises to be quite a do!

We are obviously keen to try and sell out the Hall, so if anyone fancies a fun night out on September 20th...

Tickets are available from the Box office at Cadogan Hall for 50(includes champagne reception), 25 and 10 or from their website,
www.cadoganhall.com

I hope to see lots of you there,

thanks in advance,

splat
