In the US tonight, the Dow was up 5.61 points at 12,122.52 when last checked. The S&P500 was down 1.20 at 1,375.82, and the Nasdaq Composite was down 13.27 at 2,342.29.

Good morning traders!

In Asia today, the Hang Seng ended the morning down 1.72 points at 18,151.69, while the Nikkei was recently down 16.27 points at 16,764.2.

The New York Mercantile Exchange's main oil contract, light sweet crude for December delivery, was up 22 cents at $59.57 a barrel from $59.35 in late trading in the US overnight.

Rumour of the day

AIM-listed Toledo Mining, which has nickel interests in the Philippines, hardened 1p at 105p on talk that its Berong project has been granted priority mining development status by the countrys Mines and Geosciences Bureau. Toledo holds a 56.1 per cent interest in Berong, where 4,000 tonnes of ore have been mined to date. Shipments are scheduled to begin next month.
