Hello traders!

In late trading in New York, the Dow rose 55.76 to 12,532.92.

The S&P500 was up 4.79 1,427.74, and the Nasdaq Composite added 1.15 at 2,432.22.

Crude oil jumped $2.48 a barrel to settle at $55.04.

Aye good old Bush with his lets double reserves for our christian crusade speach put oil up. Problem is bush/blair won't be around to actually put the plan into full effect for the 2027 date.

In Asia today, The Nikkei closed 98.83 points higher at 17,507.40, while the Hang Seng ended the morning up 183.56 points at 20,953.26, having hit a new all-time high.

New York's main oil contract, light sweet crude for March delivery, was down 19 cents at $54.85 a barrel from $55.04 in late US deals, after earlier having gained $2.46.
