The Budget 2007.

Pick the bones out of that then -:)

as far as i can determine, there were no real (any?) incentives for the alternative fuel companies and the like, or am i mistaken ..... that being so, it might be argued that today's rush into bio-fuel companies and even the likes of TAN is too far too fast

This looks like good news for shareholders: could make a big difference to the bottom line for some: Corporation tax rate to be cut from 30p in the pound to 28p from April 2008.

Although smaller businesses (i.e. the unlisted ones!) get hit: Brown to raise tax on small business to 22p in the pound by 2009.

And an extra 10 bn for the NHS!

goldfinger - 21 Mar 2007 15:14 - 4 of 9

Looks like Brown is positioning himself a for a general election in what 20 months time.

10bn doesn't go far.
Thats only enough to keep my nan in tablets for about a fortnight.

soul traders - 21 Mar 2007 15:23 - 6 of 9

If I was your Nan, I'd deal them too and make 20 bn !! :o)

kimoldfield - 21 Mar 2007 15:25 - 7 of 9

My gas guzzling, polluting Reliant Robin will have to go.

cynic - 21 Mar 2007 16:48 - 8 of 9

10bn for yet more adminstrators and other useless individuals ..... that's where so much money is wasted in NHS; ask any doc or similar who works in a hospital; it's terrifying

Cynner, I am more optimistic and hoping that we might actually see a few more nurses being employed, better standards of hygiene, fewer cuts to services, etc.

Although doubtless the Govt won't feel obliged to fulfil any of those wishes unless some expensive consultant tells them it would be a good idea.
