Bioprogress doesn't think its name reflected its forward progress, having trashed many investors hopes by buying companies to boost turnover.
So this is a name change that will herald a . . . ah, much the same....IMHO.
I'm not sure Meldex is sufficiently neutral a name, nor is it very dynamic - it seems to demonstrate that old matra...."If you can't think of anything good to do (to improve a business), change the Name and Logo..."
Let's hope it works, for those still holding in hope. I sold out about 6 months ago at a small profit as they'd dipped to silly prices. There was no good news then and I've not heard anything sufficiently exciting since.
Bit of a middling, meddling name IMHO.
(Bioprogress was perfectly OK as far as it went), unfortunately this site's software doesn't allow the sp-graph to include the earlier fluctuations.
-Good luck.-
EDIT:
BPRG over the last 5-years fluctuated from about 40p to 160 early-on then with a couple of peaks about 1 it settled towards an averaged pposition of 70p, but recent expectations of building a World-class product-enhansing ( or Patent Busting depending who is speaking) has left the sp below 50p.
I have said they need to determine if they are on Patent-enhancing ( for big Pharma), or Patent-busting....by going Generic with knobs-on. I cannot see they can be both, since Big Pharma already knows the best tricks (and has a mightly efficient sales-force), BPRG should be looking at Generics with a Plus....the trouble is that puts into conflict with really dodgy operators as well as many large-volume operators, who can undercut them on price and volume delivery.

Back in Sept07, Directors bought 50k-worth at 47p ( so significant IMHO), but I don't understand "Subsequent beneficial holding" - it appears they were given more shares "free"? . . . Can this be true? ( see RNS). . . . and Now the sp is down to 43p - - - I suppose the Market doesn't believe their recent deals amount to much, in terms of profits - indeed, a deal with Tesco is like a Kiss of Death . . .er, but I could be wrong as I sold-out at 66p (was BPRG).

Meldex up over 35% in four days.
Minor board change and rumours of licensing deals.
I have held this company as BPRG on and off since 2004 and I am still slightly out of pocket.
Thought its processing techniques had a tremendous potential for drug therapy applications as well as in other fields where differential release of chemicals may be advantageous.
It has recently negotiated approximately 6million bank facility rather than dilution by share placement.
This was prior to rumour release of talks of licensing deals.
I think (hope) this company has at last come good.
As I was getting fed up with dead money.
Worth a serious look, but DYOH.

Good - you found it, Big Al! I didn't mean to be snappish earlier by the way.
Re the title on this thread: guess only Hangon can change it - since he set it up?
I'm not up to speed with MDX currently but have read good things about the company recently - so I would need to do some research myself before deciding to buy any shares again (did have some in the original BPRG some time ago).

We punters can be easily misled by a company changing its name ( and EPIC!), so there appears to be a new business. . . . but you have to ask....WHY?
That's why I posed a "linking" item . . .just to remind myself that much about this company is already known. . . .that's not to say all "changers" are without merit - - - perhaps someone "here" can start a list of those that have changed beyond recognition; ie showering early investors with great rewards for their patience. ( that's from prior to the change, for often Execs will take the new lowly SP as the basis for their Options, which rather tarnishes any expectation of renewed vigor, potential Greatness etc.)
Another candidate is PEG - Petard, formerly known as Screen - a disaster from about 30p to 5p-ish and as PEG = down to below 1p
But I'm eager to learn of Co's that have shrugged-off their past - - -
- Anyone . . . . A List. . . . ?
You must know some . . . . .

Well, those who hold MDX are sitting pretty with a 50% rise today!
It seems that what they bought six months ago is suddenly worth a lot of money . . . who'd believe that?
Holders, brace yourselves for a SELL, don't SELL, speaker in your Head/Heart.
If I had these from lower ( like recent 40p (was it?)), I'd be tempted to sell on the basis I can buy-back in 30-days ( Darn ...Rules!) - at a lower price.
( OR maybe the game will be over and you've lost a small uplift....)
Does anyone know the Name of the potential Bidder? - is it someone that could be really serious. I didn't see it that clearly.....
EDIT: Wishbone, I think BM's holding is Old-Equity from when he was in the Company....it's not as though he really wants to take the business over...just keen to get it moving.
Wishbone

I think it fair to say that it must be serious and credible as BM has aquired some 8% of the company.

Wishbone, my understanding is that BM retains that holding from early days....so he paid a lot less, I presume. Therefore it's worth his while Holding and waiting - it can't get below his cost yet-awhile.
Suppose he paid 10p - after this time he'll expect to more than double, won't he?
That being the case any talk of ( earlier holders) being very keen on the Stock is irrelevant, since they cannot sell-out without damaging their return. IF the sp goes to 1 (and stays there, based on ROCE, dividend etc), then they might sell into a strong Market. So far, that's not been possible.
Look at recent moves - a bit of excitement and "new product" and what happens? - the shares move down almost as soon as the Ann is filed. This company does not appear to be able to build its sp...and I suspect this is because it's all very fragile.

Grief, this is a loser! Let's review:
Poor performance (look at sp!)
Director issues
Change of Name
Growth by acquisition
Disasterous AGM
Two Directors walk
Two new Directors sell significant shares to provide working-cash
-yet we are told by some that this is a profitable business, with cash income and potential profits from their wonderful technology that Big Pharma will pay $$$'s for...er, if you believe that - - -

trouble is cashflow can easily dry up if debtors turn into bad debts.
