Northern Rock is a buy and those with enough vision and experience know it. In 18 months time, maybe a year, NRK will be at about 800p.
- There will be no takeover.
- In the new year, NRK will offer some of the best rates on the high street combined with a massive advertising campaign to win back customers.
- The BofE will be told they are no longer needed, thanked and waved goodbye.

So the ever opportunistic Branson is proposing a bid. The first question everyone should ask is "Show me the Money" ???

Existing shareholders would be crazy to contemplate letting Branson on board and gaining control at virtuallyt zero cost or at best a substantial discount on an already highly discounted share price. Branson is well known for opportunistic interventions which in the long term only appear to offer self benefit.This would appear to be yet another.

Lets see a real offer backed by a substantial show of money and medium to long term asset backed finance.
