Seymour announces death of Richard Ratner

Seymour Pierce said today that the City had lost one of the good guys after announcing the sudden death of Richard Ratner, its highly regarded vice-chairman and retail analyst.
The investment bank revealed in a short statement this morning that the 58-year-old, known affectionately across the Square Mile as "Ratty", had died yesterday after a heart attack last Wednesday.
Seymour Pierce said: It is with deepest regret that we announce the death of our vice-chairman Richard Ratner.
Ratty was a highly respected member of the financial community, known famously for his acerbic comment and penetrating analysis, delivered in his unique, personal, humorous and amiable style.

Recently, Mr Ratner, in his typical style, had said how clothing retailers had enjoyed a "stonking" couple of weeks, given the recent cold weather
