Announcement pursuant to Rule 2 of the Takeover Code ("the Code")

Since 2000 Getmapping plc ("Getmapping" or "the Company") has been established as a leading supplier of aerial photography and related mapping products in the UK market. Over the last two years the Company has started to extend the geographical range of its operations into Europe and Africa. The Company now wants to accelerate the pace of its overseas expansion by seeking a suitable strategic partner with a complementary business portfolio and intends to enter into discussions with potential partners.

One of the possible outcomes of this process would be an offer being made for the shares of the Company and, accordingly, the Company is now considered to be in an offer period under the terms of the Code. The Board of Getmapping, which is being advised by Regent Partners International Limited, wishes to stress that there can be no certainty that this process will lead to an offer being made for the Company.

A further announcement will be made as and when appropriate.
