Placing to raise 20m- July2010 (IBB)

hangon - 27 Jul 2010 10:57

Never understood this business. You'd think a tiny bank would be profitable in a small community (I don't imagine they have many Branches to pay, upkeep etc.)
-Yet month by month the sp slips away.
Currently abt. 2p, the Placing is at 1p; so expect some downward action, although as I read it, New funds are from Quatar; so there shouldn't be a mass-exit of UK investors, hoping to pick up stock cheaper. ...Dunno, for this usually is the case.

It would be nice to think that Civilisation's seat of Banking could teach our home tossers a few things about honesty, reliance, Bonuses and so on . . . . . but maybe their size, fundamental principles, etc. cloud day-to-day profits, while the overheads need paying in advance?
+ This was 9p not that long ago . . . but then we had our Banking-Crisis and I wonder if some of that is at the root of the dwindling sp...?

FWIW I'm not sure the name is helping either, although very close to their principles and so on....it is rather too much up-front . . . er, IMHO.
I'm no scholar but maybe a name like "Principled Bank"
or "Local Lending Bank" might be better for their shop-window (=the Listed Name and EPIC), their connection to Islamic principles might then be a bonus . . . . although I'd have to have it explained in detail......... Grief! I won't put investment into RBS until I'm sure those Directors are handcuffed....and that seems to be increasingly unlikely.
I have tiny inv. in LLOY and BARC
and these aren't exactly above water, either.
Good luck to all.
