Though I'd start a thread as this is an event that all of us will only experience once in a lifetime......to me the best part will be the legacies with the superb infrastructure left behind....

Senegal playing in a typical African way, physical to the point of thuggery, perhaps fortunate to still have eleven players on the pitch.
Good to see one of the minorities score

The most spineless, inept refereeing performance I think I've ever seen.

Don't worry, Japan 1 Spain 0. Japan had over 10 opportunities, while Spain had only two!!!!
Yes, Team GB had a couple of opportunities, but Senegal had more!!
Briton like negative stories and they get it. This is the culture developed over the last 10-12 years. Sorry to say that there is no courage to help development, even in sport.
The media in general (SUN, News of the World, etc, even BBC) are responsible.

A truly vibrant ceremony given to the people by the people. The firing up of the cauldron quite extraordinary. Well done London :)

Stunning performance by the GB gymnastic team. Bronze medal against all expectations, what a marvellous around performance.
