Forbidden Technologies (FBT)
Forbidden Technologies plc was set up to create the world's ultimate Internet video platform and launched FORscene in 2004. This has now handled more than 3,000,000 hours of professionally shot content from, amongst others, some of the biggest global players. It has become the leading professional cloud video platform.
2012 was a key year in the progress of the company. There was strong growth in both its core markets: Broadcast Television, and News and Sport. Overall revenue continued its year-on-year growth and increased by over 50%. Gross margins remained in the 80% - 95% region.
FORscene’s global position was confirmed in 2012 when YouTube licenced FORscene ahead of its own solution for making Olympics videos for 65 countries, including by NBC in the US. The resounding success of this project has provided a base from which Forbidden is working to exploit further the highly lucrative Sports sector.
Forbidden is also positioning its integrated mobile app to profit from the explosive current growth in Internet video and high end mobile devices.
