FTSE / DOW

In the US last night, the Dow rose 109 points to 17,226, the Nasdaq rose 31 points to 4,593 and the S&P 500 gained 9 points at 2,011.

In Asia today, the Nikkei was recently up 233.51 points at 16,301.08 and the Hang Seng up 80.61 points at 24,249.33.

WTI crude oil traded at $93.07 a barrel and Brent at $97.70.

Gold settled at $1,225.70 an ounce.
