In the US last night, the Dow rose 92 points to 18,209 the Nasdaq rose 7 points to 4,968 and the S&P 500 rose 5 points at 2,115.

In Asia today, the Nikkei was recently down 18.28 points at 18,858.20 and the Hang Seng down 2.92 points at 24,747.15.

WTI crude oil traded at $49.28 a barrel and Brent at $58.66.

Gold settled at $1,196.90 an ounce.
