Isn't it time EPIC Codes* were allowed to RIP? - MPH was Marchpole ( clothing) -and the Forum-chatter is about that failed company.
Let's start a new set of writings about the Pharms Company, currently £2.50 ish ( Dec2016) and about to feature in the January evening ( London) get-together.
* The issue is that there aren't enough so they are re-used rather too-quickly. I suggest they lie-fallow for minimum of 5-years.... simply by adding an extra letter to the Code,
Companies could adopt an extra character if it was useful, but new companies would add A ( until those Codes are used/resting ) and then add B
Whilst we're at it; we should stop companies having A-B shares (or equiv) where some Investors are more-equal than others.
Subscriptions shares should add another S, -although double-dagger ( used in printing terms) could be appropriate. Thus making it easy to see which is which.
I'd like a symbol added for AIM-shares ( and other minor Stocks ) -perhaps others can suggest suitable characters? - A Question-mark would at least fit the fortunes of most of them, so Aim's ABC becomes ?ABC . . and another letter would be added in the above scheme.... making ?ABCX -where the X is the new additional character. Thus any listing/magazine writing, etc. would easily show which companies are Full-list and those that aren't.
I should further add that no alphabetical EPICs should be the same, whatever Listing they use . . . so Authority would have to control this . . . but please, not those duffers that set Internet Names.... where a respected trading company can't be differentiated from ANOther with v.similar characters, .....presumably chosen to catch those that miss-type...
Let's start by having a new place for [MPH]...at £2.50-ish
