News Headlines: Ex Dividend Day!

Due to todays conference at the London Stock Exchange our normal news service has had to be reduced,

 In the US Buyers returned after no more setbacks were reported  for the allied forces in Iraq as their march toward Baghdad remained "on track."

British Airways <warning> said it would cut capacity by four percent in April and May and speed up an extensive job cuts programme, as the Iraq war worsens a slump in the industry. "These are clearly tough times ahead and experience has shown us that conserving cash is critical at these times

Amey posted a big post-tax loss of 111.5 million pounds on Wednesday and said it would not be able to pay a dividend for the immediate future.

BP and Shell will be closely watched also as supply disruptions in Nigeria and the potential for a drawn out conflict in Iraq threaten to push crude prices higher.Ebookers confirmed the conflict had hit its sales, and will put more pressure on companies reliant on a healthy flow of travellers to support their business, such as hotels group Hilton and tour operator First Choice .Standard Chartered may slip after investment bank JP Morgan cut its rating on the Asian specialist bank to "underweight" Woolworths are on track heading into the crucial Easter trading period Advertising related stocks may be hit after Capital Radio said it was still cautious about demand for advertising going forward.
