ANYONE BOOKING INTO THE HILTON (HG.)

l2e - 28 Feb 2003 10:52

Hilton showed dire figures via their hotel bookings but the betting division is on fire and expected to grow even faster.
The stock is bouncing back from yesterdays drop but the summer months coming will be devoid of hard spending tourists especially from the US so is it wise to buy in now for the expected further gain on betting profits or wait out for the summer drought in hotel bookings.
Decisions decisions......

Hilton is now starting to look interesting. Rising room occupancy rates, improving business confidence and increased travel all look like giving profits a big boost. Don't forget also their exposure to gambling.

Hilton have furthered their exposure to gambling with a Greek deal - see news

This one is starting to take off on the back of bullish noises from brokers about results due out later this month - one has suggested that the market could be "pleasantly surprised".

Hi folks, forgive my ignorance as not being a trader as such. Just a quick question to any one prepared to answer.

When trading for serious short term gains, how does the spread come into play. For example I hear of a tight-spread, or a large-spread etc, but is it an inication of a good time to purchase? Essentially what does it indicate?

Thank you

generaly a high spread inicates the company is less liquid than one with a very tight spread reason IMO is that they put a high spread so u dont off load at the slightest rise and make a profit and pull out
