Does anyone know whether this most brilliant poster is still to be found anywhere? Also known as Kristal de Kanta or something like that. She used to be on the Moneyworld BB. Shrewd and witty and just obviously highly intelligent. Her posts were so often a joy to read. Unfortunately at this same time there were characters like CS or Crimestoppers at the other end of the spectrum so to speak.

I first met Margot Brocklehurst when she was a lightly freckled and lovely red haired 11 yr old living in Shropshire, several decades ago. Katy definitely isn't Margot.

MaxK - Thank you for your reply. Not Katylied I am sure. Postings by Margot were amazing : helpful and humorous but with great analysis and depth. On the Moneyworld BB she was universally respected. Can't believe she is not posting somewhere. A clever investor with serious amounts to invest. Possibly her apparent absence is an indication of what she thinks of today's market. If you put 'Margot Brocklehurst' on Google she is mentioned on some old site records

Like you I had the greatest respect for Margot's posts on Moneyextra and like you I have been searching in vain for her present whereabouts. It was a pleasure to read her intelligent and helpful thoughts instead of the usual unhelpful drivel and bad manners that permeate a lot of these boards. I had the impression that she was living in the Scottish Highlands, near a river. I wonder if she moved to the ADVFN Private Board under a different name ?

porfin - You suggest Scotland and I got the impression she lived in Wales ! I could be wrong. Have never seen anyone of her standard on ADVFN. It would be interesting to track her down. Cannot believe she's retired. With the market up off the bottom who knows she might suddenly reappear.

Sober/Porfin - Margot is not currently contributing under her maiden name on any of the more familiar financial BBs. I shall convey your comments to her if/when I next bump into her ;-)

Yes, I used to thoroughly enjoy her comments on Moneyworld, stood head and shoulders above the rest. In those days I posted in my real name before I realised everyone used aliases! I particularly remember everyone going on about what car they drove, and she came up with "a broomstick". A dose of sober humour! Juzzle, I echo the other comments, would just be nice to know if she's OK & still doing much trading.

More than ten years on from those last posts, I can confirm that Margot is still around and living in Powys. She bought a beautifully located smallholding there several years ago. We met up recently at a gathering in Rhayader to celebrate the 65th birthday of a mutual friend. Four of us at the do were investors who have known each other a long time and who will likely keep in touch after meeting again. Margot posts very rarely on a couple of financial bulletin boards, and on Facebook. I am ordered not to reveal what name she posts under! She still trades shares online - very actively in short spells, but taking frequent lengthy breaks from it. She is as sharptongued as ever, but as helpful as ever too.

My wife and I parked overnight at Margot's place on a recent campervan trip. She invited us to look at a disused outbuilding, because I am looking to set up a small pottery outlet for myself and two other craftspeople. We are likely to go back in the autumn after weighing up other sites. I can report that she is as bright as ever;-)
