Hope all is well with Krix,
A sombre start to the weekend for me watching those terrifying pictures from Baghdad. I feel so desperately sorry for the families in that city who must be terrified. To make it worse I see the Americans treating it like a video game on CNN & CNBC. They make little mention of the innocent lives being lost. Instead they gloat over the number of cruise missiles released and go into detail over the magnificent arsenal of aircraft and munitions at their disposal. They show tabletops full of toy tanks and push them around under the guidance of guest 4 star generals.
In the last election I voted for the person who condoned this devastating attack tonight. Never again Mr Blair.

Hi croc ,
I agree !! still not sure about the whole scheme of things, but I think the markets will be KEPT high as to make it seem like a good thing for everyone as it has not had the backing wanted by the public...

gdubya has been spoiling for a fight ever since 9/11. his stated aim is to rid the world of saddam. so why drop a bomb on innocents at the rate of one a second for 90 long minutes? why not a small elite such as our sas to infiltrate and wipe out the scum?
bush is like a bad diy er. starts a job, gets bored and goes on to the next. what ever happened to the afghan war? who won? the collective wives will be complaining about the shoddy workmanship for years to come.
God help us all

I think it's time the protestors called a halt to their slagging our country - our politicians and our armed forces .... We are at war and if they are not our friends - they are our enemies.
Its both silly and dangerous for so many of our police force to be involved in policing a march when there is a serious threat of terrorism in central London. I know people out in the Gulf and people that live and work in central London and will be a little pissed off if something happens to them because of the actions of a vocal + abusive + uninformed misguided minority.
We are a democracy and have voted for war - it's time to support that democracy.

thats one of the main problems in a democracy ainsoph. a government is voted in to do a job and the do gooders want a referendum on every crisis. love her or hate her maggie had the right idea. you cannot rule by committee, sometimes autonomy is the only way imo.
sad that so far most of the casualties on our side are due to accidents and "friendly fire"
good luck and safe return to all our boys and girls out there.

I go along with all you say Rod ..... just been catching up on the latest news and it is especially sad that our casualties are from our own side ... let's hope they can improve the systems very quickly. There are something like a thousand planes and helicopters involved in quite a small area and can appreciate the difficulties but its invariably the US that gets it wrong :-((

I think Mr Blair should be commended, In the face of mass objections (both from public and European Goverments) he has stood by his convictions not wavering from what he feels is right. Do these protesters realise how lucky they are to live in a country where they can disagree with the goverment (The Iraqi people certainly dont enjoy those same freedoms under their goverment)And yes while war is a terrible thing if the end result is freedom for the Iraqi people (from tourture, oppression,)and a more enriched life then all we can do is hope for a quick finish. Right or wrong the war is on and our (and American) troops deserve nothing less then full support of the public.
