News Headlines:   

The FTSE is expected to fall on Thursday ahead of the four-day Easter holiday. Thhe FTSE is expected to open between 25 and 35 points lower, extending Wednesday's 62-point fall, under pressure after Wall Street's Dow Jones had its biggest fall for 4 weeks.British Airways said it would slash prices on more than 1.5 million tickets for long-distance flights to help "kick-start bookings" after slowdown during the Iraq war.EMI shares surged amid speculation over a possible bid by Apple Computer for Vivendi's Universal music.

Prudential <warning of difficult trading conditions ahead> reported a seven percent fall in insurance sales in Q1 against the same period last year. Insurance sales have slid, with the UK showing a four percent contraction. They have said that sales for the year coming would be as difficult due to the slowdown in the global economy

WHSmith: announced a slight increase in group half year profits on Thursday before a 35 million pound charge against its loss-making U.S. travel arm. Profit was up two million pounds to 91 million pounds in line with expectations
