Weekend Chat Thread (CHAT)

Crocodile - 30 May 2003 18:53

The FTSE continues its Bull run with a weekend close over 4000. This caused many traders to have a difficult week as the continual threat of a market fall never materialised and hurt the shorters.

Preparing for poster of the week I found out that Wolverhampton Brewery's had completely run out of Banks Best Bitter due to the warm weather.  Fortunately I found one can of the golden elixir hiding  at the back of the Fridge to give to Foale.

This was not only for his regular quality postings  but also because he became the winner this evening of GD's Trading Game.  He amazingly managed to increase his starting amount of 50,000 to 64,450 over the short period of the competition.

I would also like to thank Hilary for saving the game when Golddog departed and for all the hard work required to keep it running.

That's it from me and now to enjoy the evening sunshine and a cold beer!

Enjoy the heat wave & have a great weekend

Ali: Refusing to talkComical Ali is alive and living in a Baghdad suburb - and still wearing his trademark uniform and beret, according to reports. The Mail on Sunday said it had tracked down the former Iraqi information minister, ending speculation he had committed suicide or fled the country.

The newspaper said it found him "cowering in his modest home, terrified his own people will kill him". They said his wife and daughter act as his human shields while his sons had temporarily left their jobs as doctors to help protect him.

The paper described Ali - full name Mohammed Saeed Al-Sahaf - as "a broken man, spending his days pacing his study in his uniform and green beret".
