if you hold shares on the exdiv date you get the div. shares that pay a div usually take a dive to take into account the div but generally recover. might be worth holding a few days before selling.

is there any set time when shares go x dividend.
for example 4 weeks before the dividend date.
or is it for the company to decide its self.

I get a file e-mailed to me every week (I think I pay less than 20pa) for this which gives me info on prices & dividends of the top 350 companies. The one at the beggining of the month also has more detailed dividend info, so I can actually work out how much money I will receive and when etc.

I'll log in this evening and post the info for you to find out more if you want. They'll e-mail you a file to take a look at etc.

If you go to www.itpaysdividends.co.uk you can get an idea of whats available.

Also suggest you e-mail direct to admin@itpaysdividends.co.uk rather than register on the site for more info!
