Currently new to this stock holding - anyone have ideas as to the recent drop, as there's currently no news around I can track. Granted results due September 24th, but is there a reason for the decline?
Comments/thoughts appreciated.
Thanks.

sooner44,
There seems to be a consensus on the BB's that JKX's results will be good, and I am holding as I expect decent results too.

Jumbo, Andy - thank you both for the post. Interesting reading your comments with others on some other stocks I hold - reducing sp's yet nothing but good news and increases awaited.
We may see some move soon...
Good luck.

jumbo66,
yes the market doesn't appear impressed with what seemed to me to be a decent set of results, with the company moving in the right direction.
I think if they gain an export licence from the Ukraine governemnt, then this will be out of the starting blocks.
They should probably abandon Italy too, and concentrate all efforts and resources on the core business.

Evening guys,
Sorry for the delay in keeping in - baby calling.....
As to the results I was very impressed with them - some great numbers. Good news will come from this and a rise in SP I'm sure - I can't understand the markets response though - Dang fickle people. As to Italy, I'd cut my loss and concentrate on Russia and the Ukraine.
Today has seen an small increase - I expected this on news day...
Take care,

Good climb today. Been a bit subdued of late but this is more like it. Hopefully momentum will carry it through high of 131p tomorrow.

Looks like JKX is gonna end the week on a new high.
Very good for the nerves, esp if you hold PET!!

Its been dithering around under the 130p for long enough, I think; good chance it should head north again now.
If I can hold through the sideways, I ought to be able to hold through a decent rise - rather than sell too early - shouldn't I? Gotta keep telling myself!

132 - Hoorah! About time too. The question is, are we building on this next week or pulling back again?
Mike - Hang in there!

Looks like JKX has broken decicively out of the sideways trading range with a 13% rise today, it would appear on no new news. Mike & Beasties, are you still in on this one?

queen1,
well I am!
A nice rise today, and it seems that JKX has finally moved on after the recent turmoil in the Ukraine.
5 targets due to be drilled this year I believe, so maybe one has come in?

LONDON (AFX) - JKX Oil & Gas PLC said BP Exploration Operating Co and the Turkish Petroleum Overseas Co (TPOC) have farmed-in to the Georgia Black Sea license, comprising blocks IIa, IIb and III, held by Anadarko Georgia Ltd.
The production sharing contract is now jointly held by Anadarko (48.0 pct), BP (38.5 pct) and TPOC (13.5 pct); JKX retains a 4 pct net profit interest in the contract through its wholly owned subsidiary: JKX (Navtobi) Ltd.
BP and TPAO, TPOC's parent company, jointly hold the license in the adjoining Turkish Black Sea area and have announced plans to drill a well in mid 2005 on this license.
Very good news I think for JKX and the push that it needed to start the next leg higher.
