I wonder if anyone else has a holding, as I, of Telewest shares, apparently due to bond holders now getting the 'lions' shares, poor investors get 1.5% of the remains? I made a drastic mistake with Marconi not too long ago, should I sell my holding now I wonder, or hang on........?

Until the D4E is done and dusted would not touch them with a barge pole..
The companies future and destony is very much out of the hands of company and in the hands of bondholders and banks, and the ordinary"joe public" shareholder is very much on the sidelines. The saddest thing is that last year when A Singer was in the hot seat he failed( or chose to ignore the D4E problem) when he had the chance to do so and as a consequence has left them in the situation where D4E was forced upon TWT.The new board since then have just staggered along waiting for the D4E situation to be resolved wherebye existing stockholders will get 1.5% of the new companies shares!...
Whilst I would recommend their blueyonder broadbrand service I feel as an ex shareholder that those left holding the baby when MSN walked away last year, that the present management have badly let down past and present shareholders and have even adopted the reward by failure ethos... with generous pay off contracts akin to the previous regime.
Those who see a future in cable and the 3 in 1 concept of phones/web/tv might well do to wait till after the D4E has been settled and wait till the ink has dried.VERY much a speculative stock with talk of mergers with NTL and such...
IMHO not so much an investment.....a gamble at this stage...

Hello.... Thanks for your reply, I might as well hold on to the shares I have in Telewest, having lost that much now. Being in a slimilar situation with old Marconi shares not too long ago as well (yes I had a holding there too) and lost a packet with them. I suppose as I get more experienced with stock market conditions and knowing how to read the 'signs', I might know when to 'pull out' without too much loss! Having said that, I more then doubled my money buying Big Food group shares last year( my girlfriend works there thats why) so made a fair profit. I guess it's...... some you win some you lose!
