Any good share broker?NOT IMI Broker. (IMI)

ckmtang - 16 Oct 2003 09:14

IMI service is not that great, and always have computing problem, so sometimes missed a chance to buy or sell in a good price. (it time delay is not few seconds, few minute or more) I am trying to move to the ohter broker instead. So any recommendation? What about HSBC or Halifax?

ComDirect are very good - cheap (though not as cheap as IMIweb). iDealing also recommended by a lot of people, though I've no personal experience of them

I use both Comdirect & Hoodless & Brennan (go to the directory above for details of both companies.

I use Hoodless & Brennan as they are cheaper (only 7 a deal) for my short term deals, I have not had any problems, and the site has improved since I first opened the account. I hope in time they will have the same facilities that comdirect have and then they would always be my first choice.

Comdirect (12.50 a deal) is for my long term investments.

Comdirect have far more facilities which is why I use them, but the extra 11 it costs per buy & sell, can cut into profit. (If I there is a profit of 25 with comdirect then with hoodless & brennan its 36 - not huge amounts but if I can make an extra 11 a day then it all adds up.)
