A number of fraudulent emails are currently circulating in the UK encouraging bank customers to visit a website where personal card or internet security details are then requested. One such e-mail pertaining to be from Halifax plc is now in circulation.
In the interests of the security of our customers we have temporarily closed the online services in order that we can communicate this issue to our online customers and to make improvements to the service to further safeguard your online accounts.
Please note that we would never send emails that ask you for confidential or personal security information.
If you are a Halifax or Bank of Scotland customer and you have already received, or receive such an email in the future, please forward this to onlineemailinvestigations@hbosplc.com and then delete it immediately without responding or visiting any site it details.
If you are concerned that you may have divulged any personal or security details please call our Helpdesk on 0845 602 0000.

I had one of those scam emails relating to NatWest late on Friday and then again late on Sunday - hope no one falls for their crap

.... and I have just received a similar email purporting to be from barclays. Looks like the scammers are targeting all the major banks,
