The smaller company sector is the perpetual comeback kid, usually the first out of the gate as soon as confidence returns to equity markets and risk appetite improves.
When investors are uncertain, as in the first quarter of the year, they tend to cling to companies with size, diverse operations and history. However, optimism in economic recovery revived in May after the rapid end of war in Iraq, the fall in the oil price and concerted economic stimulus through interest rate cuts and strong government spending.

Following the signals from our screening process, we have also taken a position in Reliant Securities and increased exposure to the gold market through shares like Oxus Gold and Highland Gold.

If it breaks through and holds, I feel it could rise quite quickly.

Gold chart - week of Nov24Monday opens are always difficult to predict. There is a possibility that there will be a brief move higher before starting the pattern.
