WHATS HAPPENING WITH 3DM (TDM)

carnhill415 - 25 Nov 2003 11:23

Significant losses today coming after good news yesterday. Can anyone explain whats happening

risk4gain - 25 Nov 2003 13:21 - 2 of 2

I'd be tempted to say that some of the speculative short term money is trying to get out and that the market makers are unwilling to absorb stock for which they do not have buy orders waliting. Ever since 3dm came off Ofex, the market makers have tried to remain flat on the stock as they have been reluctant to take a position that they cannot immediately sell on. In this type of situation people selling even 10 or 15,000 shares can get offered poor prices and only a modest amount of selling can have a marked effect on the share price. The opposite is true on the upside since as soon as a few buyers put their toes back in the water the price can stabilise very quickly as happened this morning.
