9 months figures on the 11th Nov, I remain causiously optimistic and yes if result are in line I think that 1 by Christmas is very possible.
Seems like not many are involved in this share Goal lets hope we are not out of line. Brandes still hold and they have a reputation for selecting undervalued companies that come good. Not 100% of the time but they do OK.

We are involved Opto, just keep a low(ish) profile. Agree re: 100p. Hope you got in sub 70p. Good hunting ;>)

These are bound to recover with a modicum of decent management - a very good mid-term prospect IMHO.

Hyphan, I was hopeful for a shorter term improvment.
Namreh3, I think a low profile it will have to be!

optomistic, I'm expect them to get near to 1 by end of year and back towards 2 by middle of next year. You could certainly call that a short mid-term!

Hyphan, I'm coming out of my low profile. That would be short enough term for me.

Hyphan - perhaps Opto will relinquish user name for you. This will probably be a slow recovery. 2 is probably many years away, but given the range in which RSA appears to be trading in, there are opportunities to make smallish gains. This is not a reovery play IMHO.

Apologies for the above. meant to say 'appears to be trading' and 'recovery' not reovery. My ex husband always said I had nimble fingers. How wrong he was!

In my opinion RSA is very cheap for a FT 100 company, thay have a strong management & have made good decisions of late. still could be 1 before christmas. goal.

Little downside and good dividends. Whats there to lose?

Downside appears to be long term exposure to US asbestos claims and the possibility of upping the reserves to meet costs from the billion raised. Also income has dropped off due to sale of several businesses. You are correct JG as to divi est approx 6% next year but with the US hanging over RSA and slow growth some SP estimates I have seen appear wildly over-optimistic (no pun intended Opto!)
IMO this share should be traded- buying in in low 70p's/high 60p's and dumping when opportunity arises to crystallise gains - possibly in the 78-81p range.

Did anyone else make a few groats sleeing RSA at 78 and buying in after the frenetic drop to 75 in a few seconds, a couple of minutes ago. Any ideas as to reason for sudden fall? US panic?
