I'm considering buying stocks that are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). Has anyone got any experience of doing this from the UK and advice on the best/cheapest way?
TIA

Baughfell,
There are UK brokers, such as TD Waterhouse, that allow you to trade on the TSX, online on some stocks even. Their charges are modest.
I think the possible negatives are the difficulty in obtaining information regarding the shares that you are interested in, the sometimes VERY WIDE spreads, and of course, currency fluctuations may go against you. A fall in the Canadian $ would exacerbate any falls, and reduce any gains, although a rise in C$ would have a positive effect!
The positive is that some of the TSX stocks rise significantly in value, particularly on hte Venture Exchange.
For the brave IMHO!

Thanks Andy,
I have my eye on several small mining and oil stocks namely Hudson Resources and Aurado Energy. I'm not planning to go OTT but they seem to have significant potential.
Anyone else with a view of these two or investing in foreign stocks in general
